huntsman - New Snow - August 08, 2022 significantly backdating this to just after Sunday Morning is accepted with RR, July 22nd! No (physical) tells of pregnancy yet as of this point! but all welcome, hoping to have her meet/get to know other Rise members further!
She slept with @Augur beneath the stars, out in the open, as she was used to. Life here would not be so different than where it was she had come from, not in the ways that mattered. The things that had changed would not be things Sunday Morning would ever think to undo had she the mind to. She awoke with a thirst, and a particular hunger. Her mate had let her sleep in today, it seemed. Months alone, and then several days with just him, had caused a mental fatigue she had not been aware of. It did not benefit Sunday Morning to be away from others. She was a social animal. But Sunday awoke feeling great peace. She belonged, now, and in more way than just one. Her tail stirred against the earth thinking of it. And then she rose, deciding today was a good day to hunt. She would contribute to the caches, but she also hankered for gopher, of all things. Strangely, beaver too popped into her mind. It had been some time since she had such things, and when the beaver became all she could think about Sunday sampled the air. Tasting water on the wind, Sunday wondered if she could discover one such animal near a watersource fo the Rise. RE: huntsman - Ashlar - August 09, 2022 Ashlar had heard the news that Augur had brought someone to the pack and he sought her out to meet her. Her introduction brought a complicated mix of emotions to the bard, mainly due to her status as Augur's (potentially?) mate, but those feelings weren't her fault. He wouldn't let them make a new packmate feel less welcome. He was a bit nervous, as was usually the case. Augur had turned out to be much like Prophet, not as easy to speak with (obviously) but just as easy to spend time around. He was playful in a way that had Ashlar regarding him, now, in an almost brother-like affection. He hoped that this new wolf was similar. Ashlar slowed when he spotted her and smiled, his posture loose and unthreatening. He had never felt any reason to assert his place here and wouldn't start anytime soon. He was Hæland - a role that held respect of its own, but one that also served all. He paused when he did not immediately spot Augur and hesitated, choosing to wait for an invitation. He didn't want to disturb her alone if that wasn't something she was comfortable with. RE: huntsman - New Snow - August 09, 2022 yay!
Sunday Morning's left ear swiveled upon hearing the sound of someone approach. Her head followed its direction, and soon she saw a dark man. Her tail waved as she noted him there, and she then started to approach him with her head low to greet him. Sunday Morning knew her own place was beneath the rest, and she had no current ambition to challenge the hierarchy here. Sunday Morning was not an unambitious she-wolf, but such a trait applied to her passions rather than those she held kinship with. Dark Man was one of those, now, in that he was pack. She let out a low, whistling whine of hello as she drew alongside him, a questioning note within it as she sought to sniff at his shoulder (offering her own in turn). If allowed this nearness, her nose would flare as she audibly sniffed to inspect the myriad of scents he wore. Her tailtip still wiggled, happy to meet him. RE: huntsman - Ashlar - August 11, 2022 She seemed nice but Ashlar was still nervous enough to stumble over the introduction. Hi, I'm-m... my name's Ashlar. He winced at needing to restart, but smiled and gave a small wave of his tail as well. He didn't mind that she came near and took his scent - her demeanor clearly said that she did not mean to threaten. He wondered what her name was and where she came from, but would not have been surprised to find her as silent as the silent one. They called him Augur, but what would they call her? Did she have a preference? He certainly couldn't name her, but for now he thought of her as the kind one. It might be a misnomer, but she'd deferred even to him... something he would never ask and that, usually, did not occur. It was partially this that had thrown him. He hoped that it was true, and thought it might be. Augur deserved one who was kind. RE: huntsman - New Snow - August 15, 2022 He introduced himself through words Sunday Morning could not comprehend. Her tail wagged nonetheless, hearing the softness of his voice. Sunday Morning could not differentiate a stammer from the rest of the words he had spoken, and so the only way in which she could detect his nerves was through scent and body language alone. But she did not miss his smile, nor the answering wave of his tail. If there were any nerves left to be found, she hoped to eliminate them with a yawn that would tell him she meant him no harm at all. Sunday Morning looked to the spot she had previously occupied, before slowly picking her way there. She sniffed at the wind and looked back to the Dark Man, inviting him to accompany her with a pleasant whuff and another wiggle of her tail. Her posture mirrored his own in that it was loose, her features relaxed. RE: huntsman - Ashlar - September 17, 2022 Ashlar's insecurity still warred with his friendly nature, but as usual, the latter won out. Her invitation was clear and despite worrying about being a bother, declining felt wrong. He took a few steps, tail wagging, and smiled. He was fine letting her lead and did not want to derail her day with his own aims. He didn't have any that were important. He wondered if she was as playful as Augur, but hesitated, too shy to find out. He had no words or tone to read, but he knew he would learn at least a bit over the course of this. |
