No Rest for those love struck and weary - Rodyn - October 13, 2022

For days, weeks, months. Rodyn had traveled to and fro. He had chased down weasels in the deep forests with winter nipping at his heels. He had frolicked in the plains and grassy areas, felling the deer that lowed to and fro, some leaving lasting marks on his skin. There had been otters by the swampy marshlands and open unflowing rivers. There was a heaviness to his eyes as he had seen much of what nature had to offer and some of it, was distasteful. He had scars upon his shoulder and his brow, from otters, stags, and wolves.

He had lurked upon the beaches of the coast, finding just the right shells. He had brought more than one. There they lay now, clinking against the rabbit furs that encased them.

He had wrapped it all in a large deer skin. The part to pull had been the hardest part, but he had found that if he used the more bendy willow branches, he could tie them. Lay them flat on the ground and with a paw, and a muzzle and teeth, he could pull them part. A broken toenail was proof that he bored holes into the wood, and pushed the willow branches through, and he had looped it all around his neck.

He had made it here now, where the winter snows would eventually rise higher and higher to hunt the last of his journey. The caribou. His paws hurt. They were broken and cracked. The seafoam still formed in his dark red fur. He smelled of musk, brine and salt.

WInter was not upon them yet, so he was not one to bring with him the ermine skins, but all else he held tightly. He stepped towards the border and then with a loud whump he stopped and he waited. Lifting his muzzle for @Kukutux @Samani @Aiolos @Shikoba

Currently he has everything asked of him, and more except the ermine in winter and the caribou. at least as long as the threads he is in are finished. :D <3

Also if it matters he has a scar on his shoulder from a fight with Aventus, A scar down his temple (A small one) and across his right cheek from otters. (Also small)

RE: No Rest for those love struck and weary - Shikoba - October 15, 2022

shikoba has been trying her best to socialize with the sister pack of natigvik, though often still finds herself alone in the quiet moments. she thinks of many things as she checks borders and completes patrols, little tends to take her mind off of what bothers her internally. though, the call of a lone brother causes her to stop and look towards wherever it originated from.

there, she can see him, rodyn, a man of many words and talents. he had gone off to complete his trades for months and now was finally back, with many furs and other treasures. though, she did notice that the man came back with a gristle look of salt and scars. perhaps kukutux would be able to work her healing magic and assist with those being treated.

but for now, sivullik rings her own call, welcoming back moonglow's own. she would go to him and greet him with a wagging tail and smile, brushes of her nose against his cheek and shoulder as a sign to welcome him home. and she would speak only a little before she knew others would arrive.  "it is good to see your face, rodyn."

RE: No Rest for those love struck and weary - Aiolos - October 15, 2022

The voice which called out for Aiolos and his family was a familiar one, very much so. The Sun man followed the call with a swiftness, towards the young man he had not seen in months.

When he comes to him, he is greeted with a worn wolf fitted with a collection of new, pink scarring. Good. He had worked himself to the bone in order to prove himself worthy to call Samani his own.

The snell of sea salt beckons Aiolos inward as he comes closer to both he and First Hunter, a smile on his lips and tail a gentle sway at his hocks. Happy to have you join us once more, Rodyn. He spoke, fiery eyes dancing up and then down the man and finally to the bundle around his neck. I see that your hunting has gone well.

her eyes were bright.

"sedna has favoured you."

her gaze flicked over the things he had brought. "come to the ulaq we have made," she said of their temporary home. "i will make a meal for the hunter rodyn who has come back to us."
