Your battle cry - Reyson - October 06, 2022 The scarred brute had met with Towhee and now he went in search of @Germanicus. He would tell their leader of his own workings with Epoch and of what Healer Aquene no Matrona. He needed to remember to call her as such. He headed towards the borders and then he would head towards the sparring pits. If imperstor was neither place he would howl for him. as you have time love
RE: Your battle cry - Germanicus - October 06, 2022 he was at the sparring pits with his sons, considering.
ruenna's condition had worsened. it was an impassive expression passed to reyson. the yellow eyes waited. RE: Your battle cry - Reyson - October 06, 2022 [ Reyson bowed his head and spoke. Imperator. As tasked I've been seeking out packs. And i recently journeyed to Epoch, believing us to still be sister packs. I dropped rabbits at their borders with their healer Meadow. He frowned. i was also asked to pass on a message. Matrona Aquene informed me that we are no longer sister packs. But i was asked to have Matrona visit. He frowned further it seems. Lady Tamar is not doing well after childbirth emotionally and they asked for Matrona. She has agreed to go and bade me pass the message on that she has gone immediately. He grew quiet then. Unsure how the message maybe received. RE: Your battle cry - Germanicus - October 06, 2022 germanicus straightened.
"epoch and mereo are on friendly relations. but arsenio will not be called to battle with our troops." his voice was measured. "thank you for the message." he studied the man. "have you ambition to rise in these ranks?" RE: Your battle cry - Reyson - October 06, 2022 Reyson nodded. That wasn't as bad as he had thought. They were still friendly. So he hadn't caused an upset by traveling to Epoch. You're welcome and I do. Reyson wasn't sure what else he could do to rise or what his rise entailed, but he would try. RE: Your battle cry - Germanicus - October 07, 2022 he nodded. "as a warrior, as a tactician, or as a guardian?"
his yellow eyes lingered. mereo had a place for each of these tracks. RE: Your battle cry - Reyson - October 07, 2022 Reyson stopped moving and speaking and thought. He was probably most adept as a warrior, because that is what he had always been, but there was a reason for it. Must i choose one? If i must then I choose warrior, for it is what I know, and what I am built for. RE: Your battle cry - Germanicus - October 08, 2022 "you may choose all three. but begin with warrior." the eagle saw how reyson was suited for it and he approved of the decision.
"what do you know of war? actual war," he asked quietly. he wished to hear strategy. RE: Your battle cry - Reyson - October 08, 2022 Reyson nodded his head. SO I shall. It wouldn't be as hard as some of the others. He had fought and won before. He was a commander, he would find Tactician not as hard. And Warden. If he could get past the shadows of his own mind, he could do that. Reyson met the other's eyes with his own, briefly. No account for hierarchy, two brothers in arms and he spoke gravely. More than anyone should. What of war do you want to know?He averted his eyes then and shifted. A heaviness settled upon his shoulders like a mantle and he settled to his haunches, ready to have a tough conversation. RE: Your battle cry - Germanicus - October 08, 2022 "how were you trained to break the heavy forces of an opposing army?"
he and glaukos were large wolves with great power. but mereo could not rely solely upon their strength. they must learn to work in cohorts with one another. RE: Your battle cry - Reyson - October 08, 2022 Reyson frowned in thought. His mind whirring to what he knew. Well for starters I had a small team that i trusted with my life and they with me. I was their commander they knew this, but I trusted them to make decisions in the snap of things. Reyson's gaze went inward, as his mind traveled back through time. To battles won and battles lost. And finally the last one, where everything he knew had failed, but he continued. I was the heavy hitter. I used my brute strength when needed. That doesn't mean we didn't employ tactics before close quarters. Rook was my eyes on the inside. He was gifted with the ability to integrate himself into anything. He also was very adept at reading a room. He was often my first one in. He could disappear with the shadows i Swear. Amity was a defensive fighter and I was offensive. And our last little merry band was a healer. Every contingent held a healer in their ranks. Reyson frowned as he remembered. We would often break it from the rear. Most places make the misstep of putting their strongest in the front. So we would break from teh sides and rear. If we could we employed guerilla tactics, if we couldn't. We'd pick them off, draw them from each other. Reyson swallowed having talked more than he had before. Had to use the terrain to our advantage and the weather and the time of day. FOr instance night time you watch for the white of their eyes and the white of claws. In the day time you use your own fur to your advantage. RE: Your battle cry - Germanicus - October 16, 2022 germanicus listened.
rodyn indeed had a great wealth of information at his disposal. as evinced by his scarring, the other man had been the vanguard fighter. he spoke names and the roman was transported to his own time among the lower ranks. it was cruelty there, a necessary sort. rodyn understood tactics and terrain. the eagle was satisfied by this. "you have trained others for such i assume?" was his next inquiry, eyes intrigued. RE: Your battle cry - Reyson - October 17, 2022 Reyson had been the one to battle in close quarters. He was first on the field and always last off. His soldiers whether, alive, Wounded or dead were always the first ones off. The scarred male nodded his head. All the names you just heard and many more besides. He hadn't minded training younger wolves after 6 months, even better after 1 year. RE: Your battle cry - Germanicus - October 22, 2022 "i will need another officer before the time is high."
but it was time to resume their duties. "i will speak with you again, reyson." a nod dismissed the man to his tasks. RE: Your battle cry - Reyson - October 22, 2022 An officer, he was surprised, but not because he wasn't sure he could do the job. Reyson was confident in his duties, and had been as such before. No he was surprised that it hadn't taken as long as he had thought. I will await the conversation, Imperator. Then with a dip of his head, he returned to border patrol while the leader returned to the pups. |
