Devils and Dust - Adlartok - October 15, 2022

Artok did not travel far from The Saints often, however upon a chilly morning he moved throughout the place. His intent today was to find a goat upon which to take back to the pack.

He traversed the tiny goat mountain, eyes on the grassy plains above and below. A hitch in his step where the cold had settled into his limp. A few more movements and it would be back to usual range. He had been frequenting the sulfuric waters more often, and for such a reason. The pungent smell clung to him a little bit. He would roll much to his irritation in fields of grass and wildflowers to alleviate some of the stink.

As such it sharpened his own personal scent. Nose to the ground, the white furred elder moved with smooth attention and a gladdened heart.

RE: Devils and Dust - Paeon - October 23, 2022

Paeon lay down in the medium length grass watching as a small group of mountain goats moved along the hills of the mountain. She lay above them and the wind was in her favor, but she did not have the strongest position. At the moment they were all bunched together and on somewhat rough terrain. If she ascended upon them now she was sure they would have the upper hand and get away. She weighed her options and lay in waiting.

Artok shifted away from the wind. Making a large sweeping arc away from where the goats were grazing. He almost stumbled upon a she wolf in waiting, though he kept his maw quiet and made nary a sound.

What do you say, girl? Team up and split the spoils?

He looked down at teh goats. If she wasn't amenable to the idea, well he'd try on his own or move onto something less that he could get on his own.

RE: Devils and Dust - Paeon - November 07, 2022

A large grey and white male came sneaking through the grass and narrowly crossed her path before whispering to her. He suggested that they team up to take down the unsuspecting prey. This male was large and littered with scars… hero signs in Paeon’s mind. She smiled slightly and winked in platonic agreement. “I’ll take your lead. What do you suggest?” she asked matching is quiet tone.

His cars were a sign of time and achievement. This would be an opportunity to learn.

Artok gave a saucy wink in reply, a smirk curling along the sides of his maw. He tilted his head and gave a nod, as he eyed them. Quickly calculating and figuring out their best move.

Golden eyes fell on one, two possible targes a old ewe and a middle aged male, he'd reckon. Probably still well worth his salt, if not a little slow. He nodded towards the male.

Pincer like. Separate him from the herd. Watch the hooves and the horns. Try and stay away from both. Vitals if you can. Don't overstretch yourself. We don't need injuries.

RE: Devils and Dust - Paeon - November 30, 2022

Sorry for the late reply. A lot of IRL events/problems this month.

A pinch to separate and subdue. She nodded and slunk through the grass to her side. Her movement remained slow as not to cause arousal of their prey. Phases she thought. First thing was to separate him. The chase. She could think about physically injuring or taking him down in phase two.

Once in position, she sat still and waited for her counterpart. The key would be to apply pressure at the same time from both sides to force him in their chosen direction. As her partner got into place she gave a gentle nod before springing into action.

no worries lovely :)

Artok slunk from her, not watching. She'd do what he asked or not. He checked once in position. At her nod, he leapt forward. Thr muscles pulling taut in his ruined shoulder, but he pushed it.

He snapped at the creatire from his side, hopefully at the same time. Forcing it away from its herd and towards the girl.

Their plan was in motion and their target was on the move. The others in the herd began to separate themselves, b-lining it to the sides, selfishly leaving their chosen prey to the wolves to fend for itself.

It came straight for her and she waited for just the right moment before emerging from the tall grass. She had caught the creature off guard as she lept forward and grabbed hold of its neck. This slowed it for a bit as it bucked about. Paeon was eventually separated from its jugular and she readied herself to get up again.

RE: Devils and Dust - Adlartok - December 12, 2022

Artok used his longer legs, and more brute body to grasp the creatures side and push. Though she hadn't killed it, she had winded it and he was easily able to knock the creature at least helter skelter.

Paeon would just need to use the distraction he provided to try and grasp the throat again. She'd get it down and they'd have won their meal. Golden eyes narrowed to slits as he growled and snapped at the creature again.
