I'm good at letting go - Annorak - October 18, 2022 For @Makono
Trying to get in some more trade threads, while also furthering what bond is between them. It can be kept short, or fade into a conversation/interaction- either is fine with me :3 Night had fallen quickly. Where the amiirad would likely seek to sleep, the mazoi would sit nearby, content upon having the night's watch. His eyes would not be held hovering creepily over the girl, but a noticeable glance shifted every now and again. RE: I'm good at letting go - Makono - October 18, 2022 she had wished for sleep. it evaded her. restless waves washed over her instead. turning and tossing. she feared she may wake @Nazli and so with that concern she rose. padding away from the lilac as she tossed a look to khaba. a silent command to come with. RE: I'm good at letting go - Annorak - October 19, 2022
His assumptions had been misplaced. Perhaps the girl desired sleep, but it refused to come.
Beckoned with only a glance, the mazoi knew instantly her intentions and rose to his feet. He feel close in step beside her, snout lowered slightly to be closer to her ear. Can't sleep?Clearly, that was the case. But was there more to it? RE: I'm good at letting go - Makono - October 19, 2022 they would patrol the camp as one. not one drop.she drawled through a breath. soon mereo would swallow her whole, thrown to the wolves. she would be expected to come out stronger. it would be with that thought she turned her lapis gaze sharply upon him. challenge me in the dark. i have told you i am prepared to lose, to learn. RE: I'm good at letting go - Annorak - October 19, 2022
There was more. He could see it through the discontent of her facade.
But he was utterly shocked when she turned quickly, demanding of him to seek her as an opponent. Khaba sighed, knowing he was in no place to refuse or argue. This moment would have come one way or another. Easy? What a stupid question. Of course she would tell him not to go easy on her! But he had even the slimmest of hope that she would say yes. RE: I'm good at letting go - Makono - October 19, 2022 i will learn nothing through ease. they both knew this. she remembered the way the imperator had moved. as a shield, not a shepherd. and while there was no way she could stop a man like khaba, she would ready herself to absorb the first blow. RE: I'm good at letting go - Annorak - October 19, 2022
Shifting his shoulders, he let silence fall before eventually nodding his head in reluctant agreement.
Though she had wished he make the first move, Khaba had other ideas. You, first move.Knowing how to defend oneself is one thing, but being able to take the first strike on certain opponents was entirely different. It was quite obvious that the two differed in size; thus, she needed to know when, how, and why each attack should be made. She would not get these lessons from the imperator, as he was not a similar gargantuan to the mazoi. If Khaba intended to help the amiirad learn, he would need to teach her what Germanicus could not. RE: I'm good at letting go - Makono - October 19, 2022 he had other plans. she silently seethed but understood. when she moved, it was not with the force of solider, but the grace of hunter. she could not be above him, but she may bring him down. when she lunged it was with the goal of teeth cupping a silver shoulder. just like last time she prepared herself to be humbled. RE: I'm good at letting go - Annorak - October 19, 2022
She lunged forward. An instinctive move for most, but unfortunate for the smaller opponents. They had no advantage — only tooth and claw to do what damage they could afford.
As was her target, the girl's teeth met his shoulder. The sting was minimal, but it offered enough adrenaline to engage him and dismiss the former concern. Extending over the smaller frame below him, the mazoi reached to grip her scruff. If to manage a hold, his plan was to swing her back and forth through the air with a goal to wind her. She was small enough, so the air would carry her easily and force her strength to subdue. They would be decently rough shakes, but not aggressive enough to cause any true damage. RE: I'm good at letting go - Makono - October 19, 2022 the imperator had aimed to do much the same. scruff her. she had no battle foresight and so it happened again. this time with khaba, a man practically (not literally) twice her size. the position gave her little to work with. still it burned something within her to have something so childish be used against her. was that all they viewed her as still? regardless, the moment he ceased the shakes, she could slam herself into his jaws. much like the imperator had done with her. RE: I'm good at letting go - Annorak - October 19, 2022
When he had finally eased with his movements, he had not expected such a blunt force to his muzzle. It winded him for a split moment and he ended up dropping the amiirad completely.
Shaking his skull roughly to rid of the feeling, the man growled, showing his teeth off in her presence. He did not fear repercussion for doing so. This was a spar; a lesson, not a coddling session. Before she had any time to decide what to do next, Khaba rushed forward and reached to grab her own shoulder within his jaws. Now, again, with the size difference, the outcome would likely be far different for both. If he managed a secure enough grip, he intended to take a moment to sink into the skin, causing a distraction with the pain it could cause and use the given opportunity to twist her body and land her hard upon her flank. And he if he was able to do so, the mazoi would hold her there with a heavy paw. RE: I'm good at letting go - Makono - October 19, 2022 if she was forced down, then she must play upon ground level. his height was composed of legs. so as she met the earth, her shoulder seared between his teeth. she could eat the earth. or she could eat him. so like the child everybody so seemed to scruff her as, she became an ankle biter. in a literal sense. teeth gripped out harshly at the paw that did not hold her down. clearly he had already won in some sense, to have her pinned beneath, but she still fumed. and truthfully? like this, it was entirely up to him to call it or continue. she could be nothing more upon the ground than the ankle biter she had become. feel free to have him declare a 'win' or not! :D
RE: I'm good at letting go - Annorak - October 19, 2022 Can be last from me if you'd like to fade out? ^^
With his final move, it was obvious who was triumphant. But in a sense, they both were. He had forced her hand, yes-.. but this was meant as a learning experience and she had done just that. If he hadn't been heated from the battle, he would have laughed at her small teeth gripping at his ankle. In any other case, it may have been effective, but it was not now. When she'd had her fun gnawing at the bone, the mazoi moved his paw and allowed her to stand. Next time, I teach to escape. If this had been a true battle and all Makono could do was bite her opponent's ankle like a child, there would be a corpse in her place by now. She would need to learn ways to get out of such a hold. But for now, they would take a break and await the next opportunity. You need rest.No doubt the imperator had a lesson of his own for the new soldier-in-training when morn came. She would need all the rest she could get. RE: I'm good at letting go - Makono - October 19, 2022 can do <3
"next time, i teach to escape." she hoped she would learn so before the next time — or at least a way to evade teeth to her scruff. with a breathless nod, she understood his concern for her wellbeing. her need for rest was true. she only hoped that it would come to her now with the exhaustion. they would move as one back to camp. she would find peace alongside nazli, under the watchful gaze of khaba. |
