all the way to the fbi - Lecter - September 29, 2013

Having found a rather vaunted place for Sos' altar, Lecter set about establishing the offerings to the Dark One, as he had in Shearwater Bay. Long hours and little rest had rewarded the pale shaman with a small clearing, plucked free of grasses, and surrounded with a circle of carefully chosen stones. These had been rubbed smooth by the ever-running water of a little creek, and glinted in the noon sunlight. The altar itself was a corroded oaken stump, stained with fresh blood; a young rabbit lay in pieces across its surface, entrails and heart stolen from its body for grisly decorations. Bones lay crossed at the four corners of the offering to Sos, ivory-yellow with age.

With finality, Lecter laid the last of the seven skulls he had brought with him from his den along the outer edges of the ring. These were from various woodland denziens, hapless in his jaws, but the seventh was a wolf's. He had found it in his travels around the forested land; it was aged, glittering with a feral snarl permanently frozen into bone. Stepping back, Lecter surveyed his work, chest lifting in a proud sigh as icewater eyes gleamed with something akin to delight.

RE: all the way to the fbi - Hawkeye - September 30, 2013

ooc: you so awesummmm. <33333 and I love your table!

Hawkeye watched the ivory-colored (from what she could tell) wolf from quite a distance, her curiosity piqued. She tilted her head as she watched him through gaps in the trees. The stained and unclean male worked at making some sort of shrine with an offering; she could both see the crimson entrails of the animal and taste the spill of rich blood in the air. He must be part of the pack! Hawkeye thought as she moved her large, black head forward as her ears perked (not necessarily for hearing, but in excitement).

After he laid a seventh skull, Hawkeye lumbered her inky form toward the ring he had created. "Hey there, male!" She shouted, giving away her presence as she weaved through trees. "I'm Hawkeye. Of Bon Dye. I am assuming you are as well." Otherwise there might be a problem... she finished the sentence in her mind, not thinking that he could just be some crazy witch-wolf that didn't care a pack took residence here. Her breath caught while she was still a bit away--his icy eyes had just a touch of blue, making it seem as if he could stare through a wolf's soul.

RE: all the way to the fbi - Lecter - October 01, 2013

aww, you're sweet! thanks! sophie made it for me a while back. and i'm looking forward to this thread <3 lecter is very mean, js

Jinx.

He had drawn a breath to pray, to worship at this new altar in fervor of his god, but an abrasive noise cut through his senses. Hackles prickling with irritation, Lecter pivoted to face the source of the disruption, and a blackened lip lifted in derision at the female before him. She did not address him as was proper, nor did he care for her as was the lot of wolves within a packland. Lecter cared for little else save for Clarice and Jinx, and the woman approaching him raked him against his proverbial hairs.

"You must be the resident fool Jinx keeps about to amuse herself," Lecter muttered in a dry tone, tasting the insult barbed against his tongue as he cast it. "Tell me, wench, what manner of creatures were your parents, that you should still trample about bellowing as if you were a child, and not one blessed with acumen?" His icewater eyes were calculating, sweeping her tall sable form and finding her wanting.

RE: all the way to the fbi - Hawkeye - October 02, 2013

ooc: I knew he was, I figured maybe his evil ways could rub off on Hawkeye! ;)

His tone was cutting. Piercing. Like his eyes. Instead of offending her, she was amused. Maybe she could learn a thing or two from him.

With her incredible sight, the inky wolf spotted a rabbit, similar to the one he had spread open on the alter he had formed, except this one was living. Without blinking, or even looking the varmint's way, she launched upon it and swooped it up in her mouth, crunching the tiny creatures legs, but sparing its life. Her precision in the ocular degree was also transferred to her aiming skills (not that a mere bunny was hard to catch).

She padded over and dropped the critter at the feet of the white one. "I am sorry for interrupting, and I hope that my sacrifice for the great Sos will be enough to wash over my atrocious nature for now." she said in a mixture haste and a grave tone while bowing. In the corner of her eye, the animal quivered in fear and squeaked in pain. "I wasn't aware that my horrid parentage and manners would bother you so." A subtle smile appeared on her face as her key-lime eyes gleamed maliciously as she stood and stared at Lecter.

RE: all the way to the fbi - Lecter - October 04, 2013

oohoh, maybe!!

He would never admit it unto himself, but the quick flight of the black wolf and her ensuing, oiled motions as she returned to him sparked a brief sort of envy in the pit of his belly. He had been young once, and though long hours of exercise and mediation kept him as youthful as was possible, along with fresh coats of blood to hide what greying hairs there were, Lecter still felt the sting of his age.

Lowering his muzzle to sniff at the wailing creature, the shaman let his eyes look upon the woman truly, past her annoyances, into the flat glitter of amused madness that danced inside her skull. And as if pleased, Sos shifted in the canopy above them, and the tree-limbs swayed somewhat in the sudden breeze. "You have pleased Him," Lecter muttered, icewater eyes holding the bright green gaze of a potential pupil.

It had been too long since he had taught an eager student; Clarice had been his hope, but the Loa of his little one had led her astray, down another path, one he himself could not follow. And Jinx — while he knew she respected him as former Angakok and holy man, he did not know if she subscribed fully to his own dark brand of worship. "Hawkeye. Who gave you that name?" the pale madman fair sneered, though an eldritch glint in his cold eyes would tell the woman he jested in his dry way. "I am Lecter, shaman, chosen of Sos. I have served the Kesuks since before Jinx's birth, and I will serve her until my dying day."

aww, poor Lecter.. such an old man! ;)

Hawkeye felt pride and amusement as she felt the trees waver above their heads, the first sign from Sos she had received. She bowed her head in the slightest while holding eyes contact with the sheets of ice, both in acknowledgement to Lecter and to show her loyalty to the great Sos.

She smirked at the disgust in his voice. "I am originally known as Vilocity, but my eyesight and precision of kill gave me the name I now hold," the midnight wolf answered concisely.

"It is honorable that you are so loyal," Hawkeye continued. "I hope that my devotion to this pack is at least half that of yours to Jinx and the Kesuks. May I ask which Loa you are under? I have chosen Ogoun." Her key-lime eyes flashing enthusiasm, Hawkeye licked her lips while staring into the frosted eyes of Lecter.

lol. sorry for the lateness! been very busy..

She was mad, and his appreciation for her deepened ever so much as she exulted the name of her Loa. "Ogoun," he muttered, by way of repetition and answer. "It is the only tier that befits me." Lecter was not so simple that he would find himself canvassed by mere ranks, but a great, grave part of him remained grateful that Jinx had seen fit to incorporate the darker Loa into her hierarchy.

Were he another beast, perhaps he would have found Hawkeye's pointed gaze unnerving, enraging. As it was, Lecter gave a mere curl of his lip in her direction, a tiny reminder that he ranked above her in many ways, and he set off in a westerly direction. "I am gathering objects for Sos' altar," the pale shaman explained briefly, but said no more, though the set of his body invited Hawkeye to accompany him.

ooc: No worries! I know you've had a lot on your plate :)

Hawkeye smiled for a moment at the white wolf's remark at being an Ogoun; she felt slightly closer to him. Never would she have thought before herself a fighter--a warrior--or even someone that would have chosen the darkside of gods. But here she was, and here she belonged.

She nodded, remembering her place, and followed after the elder male, noticing the openness of his angled body. "If it doesn't bother or hinder your practices, it would be an honor to serve Sos under your guidance." The charcoal wolf spoke softly, with a certain rumble to her voice. Red seemed to pulse like a heartbeat through her vision, but the heartbeat was not her own.

derp! finishing this now

He nodded with brevity at her, but said nothing. Their strides lengthened, and he led the would-be pupil in the shadow of his wing, where only sacrifice for Sos lurked.
