the problem with fair questions is that they are asked about an unfair world - Aventus - November 15, 2022 There was no sign of Atreus in the lands surrounding Redtail Rise. Furious with his pack for misplacing his son during his search for Arielle and furious with himself for having such a weak handle on things, Aventus took to wandering further and further, spiraling out from the mountain in search of his boy. His paws carried him south toward the mountain range at a quick lope. He considered the possibility of his son having gone up into the stone peaks and discarded it just as quickly. Mountain travel was hard even for a seasoned traveler. It wasn't impossible to believe Atreus would trek into dangerous and challenging terrain on purpose, but Aventus wouldn't bet on it. He would cross that bridge if and when the taiga proved fruitless. The woodland near the foot of the mountains, however, was fair game for a wandering cub. The trees were mostly bare now, their branches stretching black against the pale morning sky. Not the most welcoming place, but any shelter was better than none. Aves cast a quick look around, then lowered his snout to sniff for traces of his missing son. |
