I'm sending the raven - Aatrox - November 30, 2022
Imagine a life plagued by an untold past. Secrets have been shared, but you would die before giving them up. No one could hold you down, no matter how many times they beat you until your body lay still like a silhouette. Many times again, your heart will stop, but the rhythm always returns.
There is one who knows this well. A man of ice; cold, but still he is lit aflame with fury. Many have wronged him, but still he stands. Today, it is as though he comes from the sea itself. A new land, he walks upon. This is not his home. But it could be. Perhaps he will make it so. The ravens soar in his shadow, gleaming eyes daring not to part with their master. They know his will, for it shall be done. Together, they are inseparable. Aatrox could not survive without them, yet they act upon his order. Daily, their feathers are donned upon him in a way of worship. But he is no god. Only the keeper of what secrets the black feathered creatures deliver. This place.. it has many secrets. And the blackfeather magus will learn them all. RE: I'm sending the raven - Mireille - December 07, 2022 rhaegal was out. bartholomew insofar as she could see might also be out. his softness suggested a love for any children sired, and mireille would not tolerate it.
it was not yet her time and yet the fiery young leader was filled with anxious thoughts. how had her mothers done it over and again? how had chacal done it? not the act itself but the choosing, the vetting: how to know what man would not want to follow you home and reattach himself like a limpet. gulls' eggs on the bluff. mireille ran into a flock of them, snapping wildly to rout the birds before she began to plunder their nests. she had not yet caught sight of the man. The sand. The sea. Away! He demanded.
The stench was unbearable. Dreary, his eyes had become. Salt tinged the air, while though it had not even left the water. But a noise distracted him. The raven could not leave so soon. Not without first investigating. Oddly enough, he happened upon a wolf flitting about in a fit of rage. They seemed to be angered at an assembly of sky creatures. If he had any sense of humor, he may have found it amusing. But in the end, it was only a childish display. Stepping closer, the raven steadied himself. His eyes observed, while his tongue itched to scold and mock. But he did neither; deciding only to question these insipid events. And what is it you intend to gain from frightening away all the squawking creatures? He had to admit, gulls were quite the pestering idiots. With them gone, at least their ears could have a break. RE: I'm sending the raven - Mireille - December 07, 2022 mireille cracked one egg and then another, licking yolk from the shells. a gull alighted with a harsh caw, and she whirled with lips lifted, warning it back with a harsh and guttural growl. only then did she notice the man, and heard his voice.
the enormous scarred stranger was speaking. mireille kept up the sulky roil of her hackles, displaying that he too would meet the business end of her teeth if he tried anything. she was quietly terrified, but she was a daughter of the sea through and through, so refused to show it. "de eggs," she said, gesturing to the gutted nest. "scare dem away an' you have five minutes to ga'ter all you be wantin'." her gaze probed curiously, but mireille kept her tense distance, not only for the fact he was unknown to her but the fact also he was a man. |
