"@Reno!"
high on a sharp ridge, colt wandered in hunger. but the snowstorm had cut back a bit, enough to clear and for him to throw his stronger voice out. "@Sadey!"
he licked his chapping lips and grunted as one split.
"marston!" he shouted for the boy @Dagur.
"@Lonesome Dove!"
he knew — indra was too far to hear. alive. he had to believe it. but not close. not lost in the snow. gun too. he knew that one was unkillable.
colt paused on a jagged spur of stone and waited desperately to hear the answer from a familiar voice.

RE: ain't nothin i can do about that - Lonesome Dove - January 16, 2023

The rattlesnake in the dark was quiet. Was still. She had accepted the rabbit given to her by the dark man.

All was quiet, all was still, all was-!

There!

Her head shot up, it wobbled, she curled out of her small spaces and breathed out wet, cold air. She hacked a little cough.

Yes! Briggs!

She threw her head back, and released a sound, half shrieking coyote, half rattle-hiss.

Then, she moved.

RE: ain't nothin i can do about that - Sadey - January 16, 2023

For  a week Sadey had done nothing, but rest and it had done her good. Absolute rest. Then with a full belly, some extra bats about her neck, she had moved into the white of teh outdoors, her pelt a pretty backdrop against the frost and ice.

Grey eyes cut to and fro as she traveled slow and steady. She stopped when her body needed her too, and she ate when it needed too. And she was good to go. She still had some healing to do, but she wasn't so busted up.

It was on such a trip when her body was feeling good that a howl went up in the air and she headed towards it. A howl back, he didn't sound far. She'd make it soon enough. Ole Briggs. that ornery bastard. Then she heard the howl of their dove and a smile lit up her maw. There she was, good girl.
