ak zèl - Mireille - January 25, 2023 i am gonna be doing many tags phew sorry in advance for doubles
threads are still ongoing but as far as I can see, @Swordfish, @Quennell (i removed him per req so this tag is more for visibility haha unless) @Stingray, @Njord, @Meerkat, @Lilitu, @Etienne & @Suzu have all made it down to the beach and off the cliffs. mir would wait to cross the bridge until whoever is coming to sweetharbor rallied a bit (always optional to join, everyone tagged would probably hear her & can choose from there!) however, would also be super cool if sweetharbor joined in <3 if this thread gets to be too big, we can always make sub threads! placement of this thread is not on the island yet, but still on the bit of mainland that marks the beginning of the land bridge @Bartholomew @Heda @Caracal @Aquillius @Slavuj @Daniil it had been difficult to gather everyone.
mireille had not allowed herself to weep again. stone-faced, ears twitching at the terrible roars and snarling that poured down upon them from sapphique, she had bustled aminthe along the coast until she felt she could look back. the others. "stay here," she ordered her little sister pacing the beach, mireille finally called out, terrified that somehow she would entice the killer on the clifftops to come down but having no choice. her howl was brief but piercing, wound through with grief and anger and horror and determination, and the cold lash of icy winds above the sea would see it through to the island. and if no one from her pack soon came, mireille would go back to find them. for now she stood tall and noiseless and burning red against the shoreline and the water, the landbridge stretching out behind her, just starting to rise from the tide. RE: ak zèl - Aquillius - January 25, 2023 Aqui will arrive in two rounds! Just tag me when hes up, hes moving like a grandma
For the first to answer, it would be the eagle son. He was working on getting his strength back, going on trots down the beach, stuff like that. It was good for his soul, to have something to do again. Then, in the distance, a howl. Pained, grief filled. Like a heat seeking missile, he would turn and start a slow movement towards it, but not before replying with his own, young howl. RE: ak zèl - Daniil - January 25, 2023 Arriving next round or so - Daniil is almost at the bridge atm
Two low calls came across the sky. The first, a girl's voice, harried and gut-wrenching. The second, from the boy he had met earlier. A dark worry shaded his face like grime on linoleum tiles. Something terrible had happened. The rupture between the before and after belched noxious smoke into the sky. He fell into stride ahead of Aquilius. The strand seemed to loom ahead of them like a taunting skein gone unspooled - and at the bridge's end was the girl who had called for them. Even from this distance, recognition struck him like thunder. It was the redhead that had sent him to Sweetharbor with bared teeth. In the week or so that had passed, she had garnered a sort of mythology in his mind, a fierce and unabiding force-of-nature. Yet now she stood there stock still, face pale with pain. Was it his place to welcome them in? What would Heda have done? He broke into a run. Waiting was not an option. He loosed a brief howl, praying that she could hear it. Come in, come in. RE: ak zèl - Mireille - January 28, 2023 her limbs trembled. one howl and then another, one young and one older, giving them entry into sweetharbor. she looked down at her crying sister and then swallowed. "come on," mireille breathed, pacing them along the wet sand. the ocean seemed to stretch all around them, and that fear of losing the shoreline dipped.
her stomach roiled. she was determined to be strong, not to collapse or be weak. not now. how fitting that the first to meet her should be the one she had so castigated with her words. mireille let out a wondering, self-mocking laugh, sinking to her haunches. "a bear. on de cliffs. it —" her mother's screams suddenly burned her eardrums with the memory, and her breath grew jagged. "my mot'ers an' sisters be fightin' it now. it hurt two of my brot'ers an' ano'ter woman, just before —" mireille shook with terror for a moment, digging her claws into the sand and thinking she might truly be ill. "now we be here an' ask for sanctuary. ot'ers will come." they had to come. her voice was harder than the rest of her could manage to be now. RE: ak zèl - Skaigona - January 28, 2023 by way of today's ministry, heda was closer to the howl. and she knew it at once.
a far-off eye might catch the bit of white streamlined against the greenhills as she descended, salt heather and worry. aquillius called out, and then she heard daniil's voice. yes, two shapes with the familiar coloration of sapphique's family line stumbled along the landbridge, and daniil was there first. mireille was speaking; the seaspun worshipper caught a great deal of it and blanched beneath her own fur. she went at once to her friend, alabaster arms twining against scarlet "mireille, breathe. you're here, you made it. others will too," heda assured, pulling the other young woman into a hug that soon broke the red wolf's tension. "come on. we'll gather. we can watch for them up here, and send up another call." guiding now, into the welcoming sands of sweetharbor. |
