colt spat a browned stream of birchbark and circled a little, sniffing the ground to gain more information.

the forest served up a fine hideaway, and it was there the cat could breathe a little easier, relishing his success.
blood caked his face.
in his throat was a deep purr, ceasing only when the scent of wolf got strong; he was in a fine mood but knew his luck would not hold against another.
he would watch from high in his tree, like the jungle cats of myth.
