I heard the cries of an orphan - Vaska - February 03, 2023 By the time Vaska reached Brecheliant, he was a muddied, bloodied mess. Slush dripped from his tangled fur and weariness lined the hard and downward cast of his eyes. Who knew if the girl was even still alive? He hadn’t slowed since he’d left her and her sister by the riverbank, and as much as the thought of walking near pack scent made his skin crawl with a million fleas, he couldn’t shake the feeling of her breath from his mind. So much like Vidaar and Venere’s. His gravelly howl rose long and urgent through the air, punctuated with the names the stranger had given him: @Bronco, @Bridget, @Eljay. And one final note: Dee. Maybe they’d been looking for her already. Maybe they hadn’t noticed her missing at all. Whatever. Why should he care, anyways? @Teya @Maia and anyone else who wants to hop in! <3 Edited too to include the names of those Dwin gave him to ask for, set a little bit after https://wolf-rpg.com/showthread.php?tid=54387
RE: I heard the cries of an orphan - Amalia - February 07, 2023 Amalia moved on swift footpaws towards the borders. She had heard the call and she expected that he friends Maia and Bridge would arrive, but she didn't know when or how. So she moved. It sounded urgent. Green eyes traced from one corner to the next. Curious until they fell upon the white creature covered in slush and dirt. Staring at the borders with mistrustful eyes. Umm Hello. I'm Amalia. Can I help you? Then she waited, patient and unsure. RE: I heard the cries of an orphan - Teya - February 09, 2023 by now her sides had started the soft rounding that announced she would give forth new souls once more.
but this time, teya felt it would be different. it had to be. ever since reyes' untimely death at brecheliant's borders, she had stayed as close to @Sorana as the girl would allow, even leaving the comfort of the den she shared with @Bronco to sleep near her daughter. even if they couldn't talk, teya meant to be there. her back and body hurt. the stranger was urgent. amalia was there and teya stepped quizzically to her side. RE: I heard the cries of an orphan - Vaska - February 10, 2023 <3 thanks for joining you two!! I apologize again for his… people skills xD
At first, no one came. Bloodydamn. Was even this the right place? There were no other sawed off mountains around, and the wolf scent ran strong around the outskirts — but the more he lingered, the more he noted no signs of the strange girl. Had she sent him into a trap? No, she didn’t seem that clever, even with the innocence about her. A diversion, then? To get him away? Why did he even care? A raven cawed overhead and Vaska blinked up from his brooding, reality fuzzing back into life. He’d been staring, eyes hard and fixed on the ground the scent line wove across, and had missed a woman’s approach. Inky and pretty, with legs that looked like they could carry her quick and jade stone eyes that looked at him as wary as he felt. One o’ your daughters got shredded by a cat,his words were rough, as though scratched around rocks, and another woman came upon them then, this one soft with signs of motherhood and golden furred everywhere Amalia was not. Quiet, too. Perplexed. Dee, wassit?that’s what her sister had called her, anyway. He shook his head just get your medic, don’t reckon she’s got much time. RE: I heard the cries of an orphan - Amalia - February 10, 2023 Amalia looked over to Teya as she came near. And moved a little protectively nearer the woman. This was a stranger in their land and it was clear she was pregnant. She didn't think he meant any harm, but she also wasn't willing to leave that to chance. No sir. Amalia worked through the names and then nodded. There was Chickadee if she was right. She looked to Teya and then back. Should they get @Maia or @Eljay. She just wasn't sure. Where is she? We will call our healer. Can you lead us? RE: I heard the cries of an orphan - Teya - February 10, 2023 <3!
teya's eyes widened and she exchanged a look with amalia. the man was quick and brusque in a way that she appreciated for these things. "chickadee." she had been missing. her heart hurt horribly, fear plunged into her gut.
"yes." her eyes lingered on the man. she stepped aside and set up a howl for one or both of the others. but teya would come now, with amalia. she did not think of his accent or strangeness. she only nodded for the man to lead them off at once. RE: I heard the cries of an orphan - Bridget - February 16, 2023 her only post here <3
Bridget didn’t like leaving where she’d settled near her niece, but some calls couldn’t be ignored. If someone needed urgent help then it was her duty to be there. She arrived shortly after Teya called and did not ask any questions. She had her supplies on hand… and now simply waited, with a nod to Teya, to be led to whoever was in need of her skill. RE: I heard the cries of an orphan - Vaska - February 17, 2023 He didn’t have to convince them or nothin’. Didn’t have to prove his reliability or worth. His word meant something here, maybe for the first time ever. Maybe because they’d known their girl was missin’, and they actually cared to find her. He shook himself. ’bout a full day’s travel, and his heart cursed at the sheer thought of turning round without a rest and running all the way back. Her sister or something is with her. Go here, Vaska, lead us there, Vaska. Bloodydamn, after all this, they’d better have a spread of meats for him to gorge and a bison spread to spend the rest of his days sleeping on. But he bit his tongue and simply nodded. It’d all be over soon enough and then he’d start to work on cutting out his bleeding heart. He only noticed the new lady, carrying herbs, as he turned to plough back in the direction he’d come, but he kept on his way and pretended he hadn’t seen her. He was already leading this rescue mission, no way was he about to get himself roped into carrying medicine, too. These pack wolves could sort that stuff out amongst the three of them. last from Vaska! Feel free to start a new thread with them arriving, if I don’t get to it first ^^
RE: I heard the cries of an orphan - Amalia - February 17, 2023 Last from Amalia. Thank you.
Amalia offered to help carry some of the herbs. And then they were off, following the boy that had brought them grave news. She hoped that they hadn't wasted too much time. That they would get there in time to help whomever, this Dee was. She didn't know the wolves well enough. BUt her heart for her friend Maia. |
