Tell me, what does it look like in heaven? - Chiro - March 21, 2023 open for anyone of Sapphique, but hoping maybe for immediate family?
Mother (@Chacal). Sister (@Chani). From them, the blooming bud did not stray far. One gave milk, which she drank with thoughtfulness. Both offered warmth and comfort. And as for little Chiro—she did her best to reciprocate (what of it she physically was able, anyways). The first days of the girl were quiet ones. There was no reason to yell? Nothing disturbed her... nothing tried to take her life, even after it was only given. So why be obnoxious? Besides, it would only pain her own ears. Occasionally, Chiro would squirm, venturing farther from her mother's side than she may have liked. And then, of course, when it came to finding her way back... well, that was a struggle. On this morn, the child would all but doom herself. Wriggling herself too far, she lost scent and touch of both mother and sister. Lost, alone, terrified. Now this was cause to yell. And yell she did! Loudly! Where had she found herself? And where was the warmth! The sweet milk... the soft nest. It was all gone! RE: Tell me, what does it look like in heaven? - Chacal - March 21, 2023 <3
The early days of motherhood, this time, brought Chacal not only joy, but some respite. She fawned over her two perfect children, singing them the songs that Erzulie had taught her as an infant, so that her Maman's lullabies might be passed down to another generation yet. In the earliest days, when she was left with the children alone, she cried, and held them close. They'd been born into salt water, and would be christened with her tears almost every night, before she went to sleep. She was mindful of their presence, and watched as little Chiro wandered. Her eyes saddened as she recalled seeing the child's namesake bolt after the bear, and disappear for some time before she'd been found and guided home. "Chiro Rosalyn, come back to me, Come back to me, an' Chani Erzulie," She sung; a sirensong intended to reassure her child that her mother was still nearby- and to guide her back to warmth and comfort. RE: Tell me, what does it look like in heaven? - Chani - March 23, 2023 sister wandered. chani made some croon of her own, turning back at the vibrations of her mother's voice.
one day she would know chacal's voice as song. for now chani erzulie burbled a second time, a lower tone to match instinctively the chords of her life-giver. RE: Tell me, what does it look like in heaven? - Chiro - March 27, 2023 Mother came to the rescue! It did not take long. And soon, Chiro was back to resting alongside both mother and sister. Like Chani, she did not quite understand what babble came from mother. But it sounded pleasant to the ears! In fact, she too wanted to sound this way! Though, when she attempted it, all but a hiss and grumble—gurgled, inarticulate, sounds came as a result. This frustrated Chiro. Why could she not sound like mother?? RE: Tell me, what does it look like in heaven? - Chacal - April 25, 2023 The singing worked- and like a snake charmer, whose snakes were actually quite short and…around, her child found her way back to her. A smile came to her lips and she began to sing again. "Ti zwazo koté ou pralé? Mwenn prale kay fiyét lalo, Fiyét lalo k'on mangé ou tou- si ou alé lap mangé ou tou!" RE: Tell me, what does it look like in heaven? - Chani - April 28, 2023 mother sang! chani tumbled against chiro and tried to imitate some of the sounds.
they were nothing for now, but eventually these words would take the form of those spoken by her family. she shouted a nonsense word! RE: Tell me, what does it look like in heaven? - Chacal - May 31, 2023 Chacal laughed at the little chirps of her daughter, and she nuzzled them together, as a mother bird would with her fledgelings. She preened the fur along Chiro's back and continued to hum the tune for a bit, while Chani exercised her lungs and vocal chords. In a lull, she began to sing again. "Brik kolon brik, brik kolon brik, Wosiyol mange korosol. Woulo woulo Mwen soti lavile o kay tout bet tonbe nan dlo, Chéri, mwen trò fatigue!" |
