Sweep the Streets I Used to Own - Meylodi - April 24, 2023

@Heph though anyone else is welcome, too c:

Having met the leader of Moontide, Meylodi had decided to explore the surrounding area on her own for a while. The large, shadow of a wolf was confident in her ability to find her way back to the pack's territory. Her darling Void couldn't keep her still, especially when she was excited to have her paws touch the grass and see what all this Teekon Wilds place had to offer.

Her nose to the ground, and the wind blowing gently through her fur, she set off.

And found herself in a lush forest that seemed to echo stories in the bark of the trees. Burnt, moss, sea salt. It's as if there's more to i' than meet's ta eye, like- I think I'm gon' like i' 'ere.

RE: Sweep the Streets I Used to Own - Heph - April 24, 2023

Heph had lost the tail of a deer into the forest, she had thought perhaps she had been close enough to it to secure a kill but the creature had outpaced her running down the plateau and she had lost it in the forest. The healthy creature was probably not worth the effort to track down as it would have been a difficult quarry even had she been more prepared. But having found herself outside the territory she cast her gaze about, glad that her sense of direction had not deserted her and finding herself in the forest that had become familiar as she stretched out knowledge of her own domain beyond Moontide's borders.

A large wolf, a she-wolf is she had to guess from her look and scent, was nearby and being close enough to Moontide's borders she found herself curious about what they might be doing. Shaking off her sore pride she tromped through the familiar forest, noting the scenery around her before she came closer and let out a greeting. "I think I see what they mean about the beauty of the forest." Her voice was light and teasing, more to let the other wolf know she was there than any real intent even if the other canine was striking in her countenance. But she thought the scented traces of her own pack scent, Moontide, and Void as well. Was this his new mate that she had heard of?

RE: Sweep the Streets I Used to Own - Meylodi - April 24, 2023

The sound of another wolf broke her concentration, though she hadn't been trying all that hard to begin with. A lady a bit smaller than herself, a pelt dappled in colors similar to hers. Friendly, the fellow she-wolf smelt of Moontide. A member o' his pack, eh?

I still don' quite feel like I belon' there.

Meylodi dipped her head respectfully to the she-wolf. Aye, ta forest is ra'er pre'y this time o' year, ain't it? Yer... a Moontide welf, ain't cha?

RE: Sweep the Streets I Used to Own - Heph - April 24, 2023

Heph grinned, she was not sure whether or not her little game had been noticed or not but at the very least it seemed well received. She tipped her own head in greeting in turn and responded with a broad wink. "Well they do say it's the company that makes the difference." A bit of laughter trailed at the edge of her words but she turned her attention back to what the other wolf had asked of her.

It seemed as if this wolf had some reason for asking her the question and she was admittedly curious about what it could be since this stranger also smelled at least somewhat familiar. But her voice was easy and wide, plain, as she answered. "That I am, my name is Heph, what can I do for you?" At the end her words curled up into a question, open and friendly but obviously curious.

RE: Sweep the Streets I Used to Own - Meylodi - April 24, 2023

Name's Meylodi. Pleasha ta meet 'cha, she returned the wink, her golden eyes ripe with confidence, as was her stature. The once-upon-a-princess of her pack did not know herself a coward, with or without the wolves she knew at her side. She got closer to the dappled lady, a grin on her face and a chuckle at the end of her voice. As fer what ya can do fer me, I'd like a bi' o' a tour, if ya don't mind. Maybe a bi' o' huntin'. Avn't got ta hunt in a while, since Void ranked 'is fangs 'cross me cheek. Messed up me nose.

RE: Sweep the Streets I Used to Own - Heph - April 24, 2023

Meylodi, and the scent, wanted a tour of Moontide. She was still curious, after all if this wolf was simply a stranger who smelled of Void because they had fought then inviting her into their borders would be unwise. "Void's new love?" Her voice was light and cursory over the question but she still let it hang in the air.

As the she-wolf neared and smiled Heph grinned back, letting out a low purr from her chest and surging up closer to reply. "The pleasure's mine." At that, she turned around to head back to Moontide and the way she came. "I'd be happy to show you around, and the plains to the west are good hunting." If Meylodi was having trouble scenting the prey then Heph would have an easier time picking up a trail on the plains, after all she had followed the herds there before. Then they could both let loose their legs fore chase, hopefully an ambush there would be better than the forest.

If she wants the tour then I'm good with wrapping this thread up and continuing it in Moontide and then Iktome Plains?

RE: Sweep the Streets I Used to Own - Meylodi - April 24, 2023

Aye, she nodded her head in response to Meph's question, deciding to give her the story in case she hadn't been around to hear it from the leader or anyone else - not that she even knew many wolves here. I asked 'im ta spar wi'h me, ta see 'ow strong 'e is. Flirtin' an' all that be one thing, ya know - a la'y gotta know 'er man can protec' a li'er. Turns o't I'm not as strong as 'im... yet, she chuckled, adding the last word, as she planned on getting strong enough to put a scar that'd remind anyone not to mess with her man if they dare tried twice. But 'e went outta his way to keep me comp'ny while I healed, huntin' fer me an' everythin'. I fell fer him pre'y quick. At that, a tiny sigh escaped her.

Meylodi followed Meph in a silent grace, before deciding to ruin it. She hated silence unless it was mandatory, say, for hunting. I'd like ta know where I'm gonna be stayin' fer a while. Huntin' can come la'er.

I'd like that, yes!

RE: Sweep the Streets I Used to Own - Heph - April 24, 2023

Heph laughed along, she was unsure if her pride would survive being alongside a wolf who could best her in much anything but she could see the appeal well enough. Her own philosophy different though it was was subject to change and she supposed that both places and wolves themselves were ever shifting. She let her laugh carry into her words, bubbly and easy. "Now that is a love story to make a wolf swoon if your countenance alone isn't enough." Their steps carried them closer to Moontide's borders and she crossed over them with little thought. Though she had taken care to familiarize herself with the formal edges of their territory her familiarity extended around in all directions and only increased as they moved inward. "Well then, let's see how much of Moontide we can see in a day." The plateau was large enough they may not get to it all, but she felt confident that they could get the broad strokes of it down sooner rather than later.
