Pronghorn - Thyra - May 04, 2023 With her mother away searching for recruits, Thyra felt less pressure to patrol, and instead found herself invested fully and completely into the task of preparing pelts. She hunted continuously, and practiced her craft on all the small things she could find- so her skills might be more refined by the time she took on something larger, more valuable. Her most recent find had been a good one- a hare, late in changing its pelt, which was dappled tawny and white. Unique, she thought- and worthy of her full attention. She brought herself to the lakeside so she could begin to scrape the fat from the underside of the skin, chewing away rough edges and making it ready to be stretched. RE: Pronghorn - Aqillutaq - May 08, 2023 ❝beautiful catch,❞ she admired audibly, looming from a short distance away. the yearling had caught her eye from a distance as she'd been tending the herbs nearby the lakeside. this is what most days consisted of, and the expecting mother was careful not to strain herself. dreven was as nuturing as she'd expect, soft and kind to her; he was sure to see her well fed. neatly stacked a distance away was borage she had collected to support her as the time grew near. ❝need any help?❞ atka's chin was tilted upwards as she gestured to the pelt. RE: Pronghorn - Thyra - May 23, 2023 "Atka!" Thyra leapt to her feet and met the woman, tail swinging and features bright with surprise. She moved to meet the woman, whisker to whisker, before nuzzling her jawline as a show of friendliness and welcome. She turned and gestured with her muzzle for Atka to join her. "Oh, thank you!" She said, once she'd returned to her rabbit. as it was a relatively small piece, she did not suspect there would be enough room for them to both work on the one. Fortunately, that problem would find a solution only moments later- when Solveig strode into view, carrying with her a fox with a brilliant red pelt. She chuffed to catch her daughter's attention, before she dropped the fox and carried on. Thyra still had the impression that her mother was disappointed in her choice to become a Smiðr, but at least she was bringing supplies for her to use. "I think now, I could use some help!" She said with a smile. "I will go grab- and be right back!" She said, loping across the shaded field to retrieve the fox pelt, and carried it back to Atka. "Do you know how to skin this?" She asked. |
