a court held in ashes - Leonidas - May 18, 2023 So it begins @Dysis
The mossy estate in which the young gladiator now found himself in was satisfactory, for the time being. This was especially true considering the frightful state of affairs Leonidas found himself in. A refugee of a brutal civil war, a product of mortals giving into inevitable greed and conceit, the young man's family was ripped away from him by Mors herself. Of course, he was pharisaic in his judgement in how the riff was handled. As if he would allow anyone to stray him from his worship. Perhaps the war held some merit. But the loss of his beloved parents left a lasting visceral ache within his heart, a feeling completely new to the usually stoic soldier. There was no where for it to escape to, so expelled regularly in the form of curses and wishes that his enemies were burning in Hell as he still walked this Earth. He knew not who killed his mother and father, and the fact left him hollow where only the answer could make him whole. They were dead now, and that too left him with an ache as he was likely not the one to land the blow. He had only faced two during the battle that day, and he had eyes on them the entire time. Their blood was not enough to satiate his hunger for revenge. Enough. Through everything, through the pain and desperation to turn back time itself, Leonidas never allowed the weight of it to show on his person. His gold flecked tail still held high, not once did he shed a single tear in fear that that would mean the enemy had truly won. As of now, he knew of no one else who had managed to survive. That means he had won, and he would continue to keep winning. At any cost. RE: a court held in ashes - Dysis - May 19, 2023 >:3 Oh, it shall.
The denial that had driven her to these lands had long since been abandoned as the days lingered on. Hot, crimson anger was the ideal replacement. The inferno inside of her feasted upon the emotion with a ferocity that changed every defining characteristic that Dysis had, but the rage was a welcome distraction from the growing hole in her chest. Flashes of the prior events crossed her mind less and less, but the feel of the metallic blood of her enemies pouring onto her coat were not yet forgotten. The naïve wolf that she had once been now lay buried in the ashes with her family.
Although the demoness might have found herself reeling at the reasoning, she had not dared to question Ares. Dysis could curse him from the mortal realm all that she wanted, but the motives were of his own conviction. Dysis dared not to anger the very beast that had taken all from her, fearful that he would return for more. Perhaps he still had an agenda to finish. Maybe the dual lives she had rid of other wolves had not been enough to satiate his lust for blood. The prayers of affirmation were a small token of appreciation for the answer of her call to end the enemy. The naive wolf behind her had been the one to make the request, clueless that the gods took as much as they gave. There had been none left behind in the wake of his iron hands, or so she had thought. Dysis had happened upon the trail of another with a pungent stench that told the demoness all she needed to know of their origins. To her disdain, the wolf was a serpent slithering through the trees with enough speed to remain just beyond her reach. The rage within her chest had finally found a vice in which to express itself. The experience from a life full of rigorous apprenticeship had left her with the confidence that surged her forth in a dangerous game of cat and mouse. The woman paid no heed to caution as she pursued into the mossy clearing. Her mind a cloud of fury and flames centered on only one thought: Revenge. The fur upon her back and hackles raised high as pristine teeth glinted while they audibly clicked in anticipation as she neared the dark colored opponent. The wolf before her was one that she would have fawned over in another life time, but they were here now. Dysis would rather face off to finish the war once and for all. I should slay you where you stand, Roman.A gravelly voice snarled to the towering figure in front of her. An accusation that was well placed as she glared at the stranger with hatred that could burn through his very skin. Leonidas caught a ragged inhale and held it in his chest for a moment. No doubt this snake could now see his eyes as she slithered closer, once wide golden saucers now smoldering into slanted rage. The Gods cast their glow momentarily through heavy overcast, showcasing the female's brilliant champagne diadem. It was as if she was wearing a halo, but he knew all too well that this was an angel of death. His own hackles spiked, his golden back piece frayed in utter abhorrence for the wolf before him. Though the Roman's defenses had been set, he fought valiantly to remain poised. He held his crown as high as his unwavering banner, but the shock of this turn of events had him reeling within. Dysis had survived as well, which meant that he had not won. This bitch had managed to take away whatever comfort he had left by simply being alive and breathing. The looming creature sneered in amusement, reveling momentarily that he was not the only one suffering in this encounter. Neither of them won, and ties were impermissible in their culture. "Then come to me, virago." Leonidas dipped his torso in a welcoming gesture, a taunt presented almost giddily to his childhood acquaintance. Dysis would hopefully be welcomed by an excruciating embrace of eager, saliva coated fangs. Or so he prayed he might have the opportunity. The demonesses blinding fury seemed to burn brighter as she recognized the old acquaintance in front of her by the familiar drawl of his voice from a pristine maw. The same spoiled pup that she remembered had only grown into the paw prints of the parents before him with a towering figure to match, but it would take much more than a difference in size to deter her salivating temptation to fight. The screams of her now slain family propelled her forth. If my God wants a fight, he shall have it.
The taunt was all the invitation the large female needed to advance. Dysis stalked to his awaiting figure with the fearsome grace only a predator could exude; she only stopped when there remained a lunges distance between the two of them. The hot breath from her quickly rising and falling chest washing over her opponent as the adrenaline continued to climb. A standoff to the death. A mirror image of the exact reason the two were now alone together. The last of their kind. The wolf that she was before the war would have called off the tussle now, but the vengeful demoness inside of Dysis was now in control. She knew her Gods would stand behind her in defending their glory. There was a click of the teeth before she lowered herself to the ground and lunged. The woman wanted to taste the metallic blood from Leonidas' veins. She wanted to feel his ribs break beneath her jaws. Her bite was aimed for the area behind his shoulder upon his ribs in an effort to immobilize him with pain, and she put all of her weight into the grand slam behind it. Even if the bite was not to land, she would hopefully have the upper hand in throwing him off balance. The participants have indicated the following reason(s) for this warning: Violence, Language, Gore Leo is at 10/20 HP His enemy drew near, her own battle flag held taught and proud against the growing winds. The now howling gale began to rock the surrounding flora as the promise of rain crept in, sending moss and shrubbery encircling the adversaries as if the Gods themselves were throwing their favors. No longer could sunlight find it's way through the clouds to illuminate the possessed woman before him. Her halo had been exchanged for a burial shroud woven of shadows and fog. Leonidas vowed then that he would promptly send this demoness back to Hell, even if that meant walking through the gate himself. If today would be the day that he would answer to Orcus, then so be it. In the fleeting moment before her hellfire descended upon him, as the Roman felt her breath, he made sure to memorize her scent in the moment. How it was laden with hate and adrenaline, yet still smelled sweet and inviting like a flower. His own lily of the valley. The deadly flower received what she so desired, her blow landing just above his left shoulder blade. Wildly, the man recoiled in an attempt to break free from her hungry grip. He did not know how deep she had pierced, only the seething burn that came with it. The more the lumbering brute lurched away, the more the flesh above his ribs tore from fat and muscle. Rain graced the battle grounds now, drenching him it what seemed like a blink of an eye. He felt the sky waters pool into the seeping wound still held open by Dysis. "Foul bitch!" A warrior cry before pushing all of his weight back into the woman, contorting his neck in a way that aimed his snapping jaws to grapple at her snout. If he were to land it, he would find immense pleasure in ripping her nose from her face. RE: a court held in ashes - Dysis - May 24, 2023 Mature Content WarningThis thread has been marked as mature. The participants have indicated the following reason(s) for this warning: Gore, Violence, Language The downpour from the heavens came as her ceramic colored canines sunk deep into the awaiting flesh. Every patter of a heavy rain drop was another sign to push her onward in her assault, and Dysis was thankful for the interpreted encouragement from the highest god as the water ran between the bristled hairs on her coat. The flashy golden weaved into his coat were the dotted lines for her assault. The force behind her bite separated the protective flesh from ribs, but the thrashing in his attempt to escape did the most damage. A chunk of flesh gave way as the demoness herself thrashed to gain control of the larger male. Her attack had not broken any ribs, but it had pulled the coating from atop them. The ribs were not quite visible, but the wound was one of angry flesh that would surely scar.
The taste of his metallic crimson liquid on her tongue was a seductive temptation that Dysis refused to step away from. There was more that lied there. An appreciation that she could now escape the parts of her that had stared longingly over the enemy lines at the wolf that she now stood in combat with. The hatred in her heart had not been his to bear in the beginning, but the war had forced her hand. The overbearing figure before her was forbidden, as much in the recesses of her own mind, as it was from the rest of the Greek society. The box had long been placed in her mind to separate her personal emotions from her duty. The duty of the virago in this moment was to win the war. There was satisfaction there as the large female made eye contact with the beastly wolf with a bloody grin to spit the evicted piece of his pristine dark coat to the ground beside their scuffling. The pristine wolf was no more, and Dysis was the one responsible. Her tongue ran across her red stained teeth as the grin shifted to bared teeth in a threat of another assault soon to come. What's wrong, Leonidas? Bested by bitch, are we?The words were meant to be a taunt, and the remnants of his own blood still surrounding the pretty mouth that spoke them. The confident nature was wiped away as she lost her footing with the shove from the larger wolf. Dysis scrambled to catch herself on the now slick battle arena, but she was unable to dodge his bite for her snout. The shock of the slip had left her mouth open and allowed Leondias to grab her top jaw with particular ease. Her own metallic taste filled her mouth now. The searing pain from the puncture sent the woman reeling for her escape plan lest her attacker break her jaw. The pain felt comforting in the form of a distraction to allow her mind to focus on the fight at hand rather than the cries of her dead. Dysis closed her own jaws on his lower one, applying as much pressure as her shocked form could in an attempt to force him to release her face. There was a standoff then. A threat that Dysis would break his own jaw in revenge. Her own violet eyes lacking a fear of death as they stared into golden ones from which she could see the lightning streaming across the sky in their reflection. The sky seemed to anger with booms resounding from the strikes as they continued. She would kill them both from starvation before allowing him to walk away the victor. The participants have indicated the following reason(s) for this warning: Violence, Gore, Sexual Themes Her words cut through him like lightning. Dysis might as well have torn off his ears with that sharp serpant's tongue of hers. But the mouth on this virago would soon belong to him, and he expected the snake to turn into a songbird. Plaything to perform as he saw fit. The Roman sought to snatch her strings and play with this wench like a puppet. As intended, the top of her muzzle was his. Snarling mixed with a groan as Leonidas relished in her feeble attempts to break free. Of course, he knew the danger he was in, but for a moment all that mattered was the utter pain he had managed to inflict upon this hellish girl. Her writhing had made him excited to the point where before she clasped her teeth around his lower jaw, he attempted to mount. Thwarted. The heartbeat that thrummed from his hot gaping wound grew softer and softer as her hand was forced. Now it moved to pound behind his eyes, golden vision filling with bloodlust as she retaliated. It was his turn to feel the shock, nostrils flaring in agonizing pain as he was sure she must have pierced up through his chin. Teeth clashed with teeth, eyes locked onto eyes, and the rain continued to fall. The steaming blood that now was indecipherable between the two warriors began to trickle and pool in Leo's throat, causing him to wretch, but he would not be the one to withdraw. It would take the Gods themselves to tear him off of her. And so they spoke. White light illuminated the battle ground, an immediate thunderous roar following suit. Without any hesitation, Leonidas released the woman, stumbling back into a tired yet ready stance. The Gods had spoken then, just as he thought of it. The bastard's tongue slithered through jutted blood soaked teeth, bared in a grimace that both showcased pain and abhorrence. This was not how he imagined things going, and the idea of ending things on a tie sent the beast into a vicious temper tantrum. "Enough of this! The Gods are not pleased. Though I wish to tear you limb from limb and mount what is left, it will not happen today Dysis." Spitting insults in her face, he wished his own sharp words would stab her clear through that pretty little head of hers. The blinding light that singed through the air between them landed it's blow to the largest tree in their vicinity. The shock of electricity had been so close that the demoness felt the hum in her very bones, and it had blinded her to the golden eyes a mere inches distance from her own. The boom resounded then. The release of pressure on her maw drew a groan of displeasure that released her quarry from her own jaws. Her violet eyes allowed her to see, then. Dysis watched his neck as he backed away with a primal urge only held under wraps by the highest god himself. The damage she had inflicted upon the enemy brought satisfaction to her very core, but the kill was not hers to be had.
Still, the large female seethed in hot rage as she prowled in diagonal formation to the dark wolf. Her teeth clicked repeatedly in her mouth as she fought away the urge to finish what they had started, and the demoness was akin to a tiger pacing on the edge of a cliff, watching... waiting for any wrong move. Her cream ears listened to him, and she proceeded to throw a tantrum of her own. The sheer anger overpowering any sense that the woman had to keep her bleeding mouth closed. I was winning, Leonidas. You were going to lose. You deserve to lose. Our lives were pristine before your people spread their bitterness. Could you not just let it go? Why take everything from us at the expense of your own? Why deny me of this one final victory? There was a rhetorical nuance to her words that she was sure would go unanswered, but the woman wanted to say them anyway. Blood slowly dripped from her muzzle as glowing violet eyes glared into his very soul. A clash of violet fields and golden rivers. Any affections once held for Leonidas were now cemented in a black heart devoid of any type of fondness, and the large wolf refused to turn her back on him, having learned from his stunt at the end of their fight. An uneasiness settling within her in his presence after his words. The gods could have their will, but she would not remain in his presence. Dysis would leave him alive, and perhaps the wound would kill him after all. The woman backed away and moved to where she could observe him until her figure disappeared from his sight. She marked there while still glaring. One last fuck you. A clear challenge indicating that the fight may have tied, but the demoness intended to win the war after all. No matter the cost. RE: a court held in ashes - Leonidas - May 29, 2023 short but fading here :)
Deserved to lose? Going to lose? Leonidas took issue with the assumptions being thrown at him. "You speak as if you can see the future as well as you have seen the past. You are not a God, Dysis. You don't know anything." The warrior spit blood mere inches from the woman in a show of further defiance. He had underestimated her, but would never relinquish this nor would he ever make the same mistake again. Beaten and blood soaked, the soldier knew he was lucky that the Gods favored him so much so that they allowed him a respite. Golden eyes stayed steadily fastened to the demon as she drifted out of sight, blood splatters trailing behind her leading into the shadows of the surrounding forest. And though he watched Dysis first and foremost out of caution, he stared after her out of primal desire. A true Spartan of a woman. |
