i don't know what you do - Aqillutaq - May 18, 2023

@Dreven if you'd like :)

the briny air kissed her face as it made its way to greet her from the seaside. she watched the sunset, adoring the way the sky had reddened with the smokey air. it should have been relaxing, but her gut twisted with anxiety. dreven didn't seem okay. what was she supposed to do?

she could not make him okay and love was enough to cause this dull, worrying ache. it was what made it all the more painful. feeling him pull away at night and not knowing what tormented him. perhaps she had nothing to worry about. this thought had paused, feeling the light kick within her.

her throat had caught, a bump rising.

❝everything will be okay.❞ she didn't quite know if she was whispering it to herself, or to the life she was so excited to see.

atka wanted to see them, kiss them, and know them. she felt stirred to find dreven, but she remained where she stood. the pale woman was looking forward to curling up as his side tonight, even if he kept this worry or anxiety hidden from her.

RE: i don't know what you do - Dreven - May 19, 2023

The sea had a taste and a smell to it unlike any that Dreven knew. It burned and yet it cleansed and he still wasn't quite sure how he felt about it. Sometimes it stunk, but not often. And it was constantly noisy. It was never silent. Dreven thought he liked that the most, because when things were quiet. Well.

Dreven wasn't upset with his place in the world, or with Atka's pregnancy. No his worries were that it would go away. That someone, somewhere would remember him as an enemy and cause distress. He knew that the wolves of this pack would protect Atka, and he'd die for her and their children, but he couldn't stop the nightmares or the worry.

It was with swift step's he came across her. And he stopped for a minute to reorient himself and gently trace the rounding of her sides. His throat tightened for a second and then he was moving forward again. A trace along hip and back until he made it to her side, and large head over shoulders he waited. Quietly.
