Using your words just to move up a base - Nasamik - May 22, 2023 While Nasamik was not too fond of the idea of leaving her husband alone in Moonspear, she knew this move would be beneficial for many. Moontide would grow, mother and son would get some bonding time, and Nasamik would finally get a breath of fresh (uncrowded) air. Nudging her son gently, she settled beside him within the lodge she'd begun to prepare. You must mind your manners here, @Raiyuk. Those that live here should be treated just as you would any of Moonspear. They are sisterpack kin to us.Though, perhaps now Moonspear would be considered this way as they settled in the land of the tide. RE: Using your words just to move up a base - Raiyuk - May 22, 2023 It felt wrong to travel anywhere without Chakliux. The man was always there when Raiyuk went on his outings from the lodge, or ventured to the other ulax to visit his friends; but neither his father nor any of the other children were here. It was only himself and Nasamik. That was fine for a while — but as the journey between villages stretched on, he lagged back a bit, and it took constant prompting by his mother to keep going. The boy looked over his shoulder often for his father, and was a sour-faced, despondent brat by the time the pair reached Moontide's limits. The reminder from Nasamik to mind his manners was met with a soft raspberry blown her way, and a pout, as he scowled at the rocky ground. It smelled bad here; his nose wrinkled when he caught the salt in the air, and then he kicked one of the loose rocks across a small henge of the plateau, listening to it skip along until it hit a patch of grass. He pulled away from his mother at the last moment, and refused to speak. RE: Using your words just to move up a base - Nasamik - May 22, 2023 Tongue clicking briefly against the roof of her mouth, her head shook towards the actions of her child. He missed Chakliux. The feeling was mutual. You want him here... as do I. It won't be forever, Raiyuk. Your father has some-... things, to take care of before he can join us. And then we will all be together. Wasn't that enough to coax her son into not being angry? Or would they be stuck like this... RE: Using your words just to move up a base - Raiyuk - May 24, 2023 Raiyuk didn't understand what his father was doing in the village, especially if they were meant to live in this new one together. Why hadn't he come? He couldn't find it within himself to ask. All that mattered was that Chakliux wasn't here, and his mother couldn't satisfy whatever had upset him. The longer he waited for someone to come meet them, alone now with his mother, the more he felt badly about it. Not just the absence of his father but his sadness about his friends! They weren't here either; he'd up and left them! What would Seal think? He hadn't wanted to abandon anyone — but then, he hadn't been wholly aware of anything outside his tiny microcosm of life. Would the other kids even notice he was gone? He waited quietly without any attention spared for Nasamik, fully lost within his own thoughts, emotions, and inner world. RE: Using your words just to move up a base - Nasamik - June 18, 2023 Her son, lost in his own mind. Much less than content, she sighed, sinking back to her nest. If it was distance he wanted, she would give it. Perhaps when Chakliux returned, things would change. But for now, she could only wait and be satisfied with what was the present. |
