If you’re wrong and there is a hell… then I guess I’ll see you there - Osleya - May 30, 2023

casually poking around...
may choose to stay, or may not. it is up to ic fate.

@Toula or @Senmut

She had known this place to be one she would make it home in. But her ventures had been empty. Few candidates brave enough to follow her as wanheda had come to make themselves known. So... what more could she do but admit defeat? For now, anyways.

A place of red sands came to view after many long weeks. The smell wasn't as pleasant as the sight of it; the latter being what kept her moving in its direction. Something about it drew her in. But as per what—well... she couldn't quite figure that part out.

Scents of territory markings were evident along the many parallel stones. While she would liked to simply ignore them and walk on, she was a true woman of her heritage. Land that did not belong to her, she would not walk upon freely. So, to the claimants, she sent a call. Receiving an escort would be the only way she could explore this place further. And this, she desperately wanted to do.

If Toula or Senmut come, feel free to skip around if the opportunity allows.

The call outside their home echoed over the red rock of the mesa. Naberius decided to receive it, coming out from the archway and towards the stranger. A large, dark red-worn woman. He looks to her with a risen brow as long limbs close the distance between them.

At first glance, Naberius eyes look to her up and down with seeming judgement, his tongue clicking on the roof of his mouth. Though as he stops, he smiles, all made of friendliess to their visitor. Welcome to the mesa, visitor. Home of Akashingo. He grins a toothy one. He knew Senmut or Toula would arrive in time and he might as well entertain the guest until then.

Soon, someone came to greet her.

They did not hold themselves as a leader, but yet with enough confidence and arrogance to assume they had noble enough a tongue to address her here in placement of their liege.

Mesa . . She mirrors, thinking deeply on this word. Never had she heard it used.

Place of red sand. She corrects, assuming her description superior to his.

Seemingly impatient and already bored of his presence, her gaze sweeps past him as if expecting to see someone else come to take over.

She corrects and his orange and peach eyes narrow. His head remains high, yet tail relaxed behind him. Then, she looks past him, as though his arrival was a waste of her time. His hackles bristle. If she would not treat a Lord of the land with respect, it would only show her lack of respect to authority as a whole. If she thought so little of him, what was to stop her from thinking the same of another? Already, she proved to show little care of hierarchy. Low born. He tisks. If you have only come to disrespect Akashingo's nobles, you are free to leave.

The return of his voice distracts her, causing a sharp pull of her skull to look back upon his distasteful scowl.

Nobles not exist to my people. And so she would not see him as such, even here.

I am wanheda, She warns, minding him of his place under her watchful eye. Wanheda speak only to commander of red sands. And none other, be it that he somehow forgets.

And wanheda does not exist to our people. And she would not be theres, so long as she continued to be so disrespectful. But was she even here for this? Perhaps she come to deliver a message instead, made only for the words of Queen or Pharoah. Still, they had enemies so near. She could be one of them, an assassin sent to slay the young Queen. It was only right to air on the side of caution and she was giving him every reason to continue so.

This is Akashingo. Maybe she had not understood the first time, so he repeats. How commical, to think that the ways of her people held weight, above that of Akashingo! If it is their laws instead of our own you wish to obey... He lifts a front limb, flicking his paw at the ankle ourward as a manner for her to skat. But, if she would not, then fine. He would keep watch, unwilling now to leave her unattended since she already proven untrustworthy.

They wished for her to go. This was clear. For the noble of the red sands did not like her anymore than she liked him. But whether they favored each other mattered not. She was here for reason, and would not leave until all she desired was fulfilled.

He did not speak further, but watched her. Seemingly content, she continued to look past him, waiting. If no one else came for a time yet, then she would part ways with this place, perhaps to return at another time. Though, nothing was set in stone.
