two melodies - Ivev - November 05, 2014

just trying to get this char more active; set before she wanders into NB

It was early morning and the sun was a radiant yet cool ball floating through the mist. The forest always seemed to hold this tepid fog as dew and frost evaporated off the grass. It stained her white hocks with a damp coat, and the plants underfoot made a soft squelch with each movement.

Ivev had long since crossed the stream that ran near her makeshift den, wandering deep into the covered wood. The ground was rather flat but strewn with fallen logs and mossy boulders, and the shaman moved automatically around them. She hadn't quite found what she was looking for yet, and so her path seemed winding and endless.

Hello!

The assassin cleaved through the fog like a wraith, ice-like eyes wandering back and forth, looking for anything trying to hide in the mist. He had been wont to wander now, searching for his Frost Queen. He had not seen her in a while, and it made him worried. Where could she be? Was she hurt, was she dead? The anxious thoughts wracked his brain for a few moments, until he saw a white pelt in the fog.

His eyes widened, seeing the similarities in this pelt to his Queen's. He was apprehensive, could it really be her? "Cara?" He called out to the figure in the mist.

hey! :D

The voice came like a finger out of the mist before Ivev could place it's owner. With a whirl, Ivev whipped her body around to meet the male's ice-like eyes with her own pale blue ones. The arctic female seemed frozen for a moment as she watched the dark, chocolate-ebony hued male dispatch himself from the misty woods and approach her. He she been actively looking for him, the healer would've never been able to tell the difference from the shadows and the stranger, as he blended in so well.

Who are you? she responded, voice muted but direct. By now, the male should be able to tell that Ivev was no Cara. If the surprise didn't cause the stranger to react, Ivev would loosen her slightly tense, crouched posture, but at any moment she was ready to bolt.

"Ah." He said upon seeing gray eyes in place of the yellow he wanted to see. A case of mistaken identity. "Forgive me, I thought you were someone else." He murmured apologetically, slightly embarrassed that he had bothered her on a desperate whim. "I am Kaname, Beta of Ouroboros Spine, if you still wish to know."

RE: two melodies - Ivev - November 10, 2014

She seemed to subtly deflate.
I'm just glad to hear you're not one of the Bypass wolves, Ivev confided. Although she was saddened to hear that the male couldn't find this Cara, a great wave of relief had settled in the tundra healer's frame when she noted that this stranger wouldn't berate her physically for it.

A case of mistaken identity aside, Ivev wondered what this Kaname was doing in such proximity to another pack? He was a beta, apparently, but did that mean different things inside his group? Maybe Kaname was tasked to explore- or find his missing friend.
I'm Ivev, she offered, tail whisking the inside of her leg.

He racked his brain for any details on this...Bypass pack. He had not travelled in the north very often, so he did not know much about the changes that have occurred here. Was this a new pack? "What's the Bypass?" He asked Ivev.

RE: two melodies - Ivev - November 12, 2014

A pack just east of here, Ivev responded. Apparently they're structured like Romans? I've never heard of the sort. The female never paid much attention to what or how other packs organized themselves, and only based her knowledge on what little Vector had told her.

What's Ouroborous like? Sitting down, she tilted her head slightly to lift her ears to listen to the male. She could feel her heart calming, pulse slowing as the initial thought of being jumped by Kaname faded away.

RE: two melodies - Kaname - November 12, 2014

Romans. He had heard of them: a race of warriors, always conquering land to feed their insatiable hunger, which expanded to every region of life. They always wanted more....and they wanted the best of everything. And they would do anything to get it. He knew that first hand after serving as an assassin for some Roman who wanted to kill his parents to get their land. Bloodthirsty bastards. They were good clients to have.

"Ouroboros Spine, the full name, is a circle of small mountains to the south. It's beautiful land, full of conifers with a large lake." He thought back to the land Jinx had claimed for them, wondering how long they would have a hold on the Spine. "We've been there for a few months now, but we've been doing alright."

RE: two melodies - Ivev - November 13, 2014

She liked the description Kaname gave about his home territory. The tundraborn hadn't come across much open land that was covered in sparse grass, thistle, and shrubs like her former home, but had been in plenty of open pine forest the male had just described. Ivev hadn't gone south yet, only to the coast and then back over the mountains. Perhaps she would try and stop by and visit the Spine.

It does sounds beautiful,
she agreed, flicking an ear. Blackfoot Forest was a different type of forest, more riparian with hidden creeks covered in plants, spindly trees rising up to the sky and covering blue with their branches.

Ivev glanced back at him, a careful blue eye crossing his body. She was glad the man was no threat, but the ivory wolf had arisen in the early dawn for some specific purposes, and sometimes conversation could hinder her tasks.

RE: two melodies - Kaname - November 18, 2014

"Indeed it is." He sighed, his breath visible in the misty air. The icy-eyed male watched the land around them, wondering if the Spine was experiencing the same fog as they were. It was possible, as the mountains were not high enough to create a rain shadow, or dispel the fog. "You're an arctic wolf aren't you? You must not have seen trees very much up there, right?" Part of him had a natural disdain for arctic wolves, especially ever since he had entered their lives. And left it, quite quickly. And messily.

Ivev settled herself onto her haunches, feeling the dewy grass seep into her fur. She seemed to mull over his question for a moment, wondering if it was worth imparting such a part of her past.

I was born in the north, yes, but spent most of last year just north of here. With a pack called Abendrot- an assassin's paradise.

The place held little fond memories for Ivev. She had made few acquaintances worthy to be deemed a friend, for she had spent most of her waking hours in a constant state of abject terror. It was her fault, too, for letting herself into the pack's home. Ivev could only hope she had served them well. For many months, she had been the only healer.

Funny that I had stay there for so long, Ivev reminisced. I wish I knew of this place sooner.

She didn't mention that she had only come to follow in her father's footsteps.
