into the unknown - Isaiah - July 06, 2023

Sunlight.

Isaiah had no name for the burning bright, but as soon as daylight touched him, he turned away and scuttled back into the den.

What were these things around him! Colours streamed in blurry shapes. Some that moved and others that stayed put and in place. He knew the ones that moved, but the rest…

Isaiah‘s paw struck something round and cool in his retreat — something that shifted against his touch — and he yelped with a tiny spin. Cool grey blurred in and out of focus and he squinted to make sense of it, even as he backpedaled through the den.

RE: into the unknown - Páli - July 07, 2023

Her little babies had opened their eyes recently and Pali loved watching their reactions to colors and shapes and movement. Just right now Isiah was trying to make out her and his siblings with his blurry blue eyes and she chuckled as they kept colliding.

RE: into the unknown - Raen - July 07, 2023

Raen had wandered from her parents' sight for a moment, coming over to what she could only describe as... another Raen! What... was she? She wasn't sure yet, but the Other Raen looked interesting and tinier than herself. ta ta, the little Hawkcrast whimpered.

The bigger Raen wasn't Mama Raen, but that was okay, right?

RE: into the unknown - Páli - July 08, 2023

Pali saw the little alfa pup come over to her and her litter. She smiled. She knew the pup was named Raen so she greeted the little girl by her name. "Hi Raen. I'm Pali." She said. "And this is Isaiah." She added, gesturing to the little boy who was testing out his eyes. "You can try to play with him if he can. He's a bit smaller than you though." She explained.

RE: into the unknown - Iris Hope - July 10, 2023

Waking slowly, the girl shifted her weight and made a leisurely effort to stretch out her nubbin legs, spreading her toe-beans in to stars, while a biiiiiiiig yawn slipped out of her gaping mouth. The squeak of that was followed by the idle gumming of the air, and then a blink. And another blink. And the slow dawning realization that hey, I couldn't do that yesterday.

RE: into the unknown - Badger - July 24, 2023

Badger followed his sibling over to where the younger babies were, as they just opened there eyes. He placed a paw out in front of the little boy Isaiah, hoping he'd look at it or try to bat at him

RE: into the unknown - Raen - August 20, 2023

Raen had no idea what Not Mama Raen was saying yet, but it'd come in time.

She was more focused on the idea that there were Little Raens and that was exciting. She bat at her brother, crouching and grrr-iping for playtime. If they weren't old enough to play, brother could play. Play!

She wuffed excitedly, high-pitched and stared at him with eager eyes.

Play with me! They're not very interesting anyway. The youngest daughter whined.

RE: into the unknown - Isaiah - August 26, 2023

He scuttled back until his bum hit something squishy, warm, and - and talking! He scooted in a circle with another yelp, and a squint, until the other pup came into blurry focus.

Oh! Oh. Two swirled into focus, different enough they couldn't be the same, but same enough he almost went cross-eyed making sense of them, until the boy reached out his paw - and that was distraction enough.

Isaiah stared at the other boys huge toes and almost peed himself. Almost. Instead he reached out with a shaky paw until he got close enough to hit the boy's paw with the quickest bap! before he scooted back.

The other pup seemed not so focused on him anymore, and that was good, good, good by him. It would give him more time to figure out just what these other children were all about.
