jeena yahaan, marna yahaan - Aditya - July 16, 2023

ugh—what muck!

aditya slowly made his way through the mire, cursing under his breath with each step. bugs formed a swarming cloud around him, and his legs were coated in green-brown mud up to his knees and hocks.

still, he carried on, heading south. although he should know better. . .he'd once roamed these lands. and now had taken a wrong turn, obviously.

all he needed to find were the mountains, and then cross them.

preferably before winter. which he thought was doable. but then, he'd not anticipated this.

RE: jeena yahaan, marna yahaan - Hollis - July 20, 2023

It was the smell that bothered her the most.

an amalgamism of foul odors assaulted her nose as she waded through the muck: mold, stagnant water ripe with decaying plants and fish,  waterlogged mud. the smell so insulted her that she wore a nearly immobile expression of disgust, ears back, snout wrinkled. meanwhile, the sensation of mud and slime between the pads of her paws was one she could have happily lived without.

Hollis reached a small isle where the earth underfoot was somewhat dry and hopped upon it. she needed a break before returning to the vile soup.

it was then that the she wolf realized she wasn’t alone. an agouti male made his way across the water, looking similarly uncomfortable with his situation.

Tossing her head against a group of loitering mosquitoes, Hollis called out to him, “Hullo - I see I’m not the only one who thought it would be a good idea to cross the swamp,” she said flatly. The other option being to go around it; but Hollis wasn’t the most patient of women.

adi's head swiveled to take in the approaching woman, giving her a nod and smiling wryly as she spoke. nahin, you're not, he said, suppressing a chuckle, lest she think he was laughing at her and not with her, as he intended.

her fur was dark, her eyes fiery. she reminded him of easy, somewhat, save her physique was daintier, smaller.

but she was around easy's age, and it in turn made him uneasy; he tried to keep those feelings at bay as he shuffled his paws, keeping his footing.

what brings you through here? he asked, cocking his head.
