dex, sin, dex - Faustus - August 02, 2023 He needed time. The Greeks call upon him to settle here. Where even was here? These lands are plentiful and spacious, but much of what he'd seen thus far is open desert, not unlike the lands of Numidia to the south of his home. Was it useful for the sake of a colony? And besides, his father would be furious if he knew where he was — or what he was planning. Sucking in a deep breath, his stiff-muscled wandering takes him into the trenches of what appears to be a tall-rimmed canyon. Arching cat-like against the jagged edge of a sandstone fixture, he exhales sharply and ducks beneath a shadow. The rose-gold light of early evening frames his jaw as he comes to a sit. If he had to deal with her for one more minute today, he might scream. For now, he rests. RE: dex, sin, dex - Sari - August 02, 2023 S'ari had spent most of the day resting in the shallows of the stream back at the Ravine, staying out of the heat. Now it was early evening and she was dying to stretch her legs. So here she was at the Gulch, and she honestly could not remember if she'd been here before. She'd been so many places in this desert, over such a short period of time, that they were beginning to blend together. And here, becoming more and more common, was the scent of Wolf. It seemed the Coyotes would not have control of this land for much longer. This did not bother S'ari, but the others... the others were more temperamental when it came to their bigger cousins. Really, it was all how you spoke to them. Wolves could be reasoned with. Not all, but most of them. Most that S'ari had met, anyway. Today she did not feel like speaking. Not right away. So, instead, she hummed a tune, loudly enough to echo about the canyon walls, and alert the wolf that someone was here. RE: dex, sin, dex - Faustus - August 02, 2023 omg i've been blessed with a s'ari thread
His head rests upon the shale, eyes fluttered to a close. All is silent, for a while, save for the short bursts of wind that echo through the canyon. But that was odd. There was no breeze. He swivels his head around; perhaps Andromache had come to find him — or taunt him with a mocking tune — but there is nothing, no shadow, except for what appears to be a coyote. A free-roaming coyote? So close to where wolves inhabit? This was certainly unusual. His bicolored gaze narrows inquisitively as he leans forward. Hello,he thunders, a bark in hopes of earning its attention. are you a local, caninus? How pitiful to ask for guidance from a lesser subspecies, but perhaps he could benefit from the humbling given the dire straits. RE: dex, sin, dex - Sari - August 02, 2023 ;) In all seriousness, I just answer any thread in the Lowlands if I don't currently have a thread with that player and no one else got to it first lmfao
Caninus,S'ari repeated, continuing her stroll until she'd reached a comfortable distance from the wolf. S'ari understands the word, but does not know its origin. Interesting. She paused, then went on. Yes, she is a local, if one wishes to call it that. She roams the Desert, has been... mm, almost everywhere. She studied the grey-colored wolf with the bi-colored eyes. Why? Is this one lost? She sidled closer, like a cat, but stayed out of biting distance. In a low voice, she purred, S'ari could tell you the way... for a price.There. Let him wonder for a moment. Let her seem mysterious for a heartbeat. It was more fun this way. RE: dex, sin, dex - Faustus - August 03, 2023 It is Latin, the language of my people, you'd think this coyote-girl would notice the accent. Was she stupid? Then again, most barbarians were, in his eyes. He extends a paw, head lowered into a polite bow. His lips curl. I am Faustus Aemilius Drusus of Florentia, given the circumstances, he supposed she would not know his name or where he hailed from — but! He was a man of the people, always willing to lend a hand and educate! I am not lost, per se, merely... exploring. Searching for lands to settle within. I come here with a gaggle of allies, and we are considering making our stay in these fair dunes permanent.Ugh. The Greeks. Andromache. He was due to report back to her soon; oh, how terribly he didn't want to. Instead, he focuses on this S'ari, studying her movements with the gaze of a raptor. Do you have family here, caninus? I may as well figure out who my neighbors will be, hm? RE: dex, sin, dex - Sari - August 13, 2023 sorry for the wait on this. I’ve been going through some health issues and it’s tanked my muse.
Well. He ignored S’ari’s offer of help for a price, and so she pretended as if she had never offered it. Latin. This one… is not sure if she has heard of your language or not. Many have come to the Tribe for trade, and perhaps some of them spoke Latin, but if they did, S’ari does not remember it, no. Ah. So, he wished to stay, and there were others with him. Well, this was fine with S’ari, but the others… the others were not so kind to wolves. To tell him, or not? There are many places to settle in the Desert, she said, slowly, but avoid the Ravine to the east, yes? S’ari’s family… they do not take kindly to wolves, although S’ari does not have a problem with her larger cousins. But not all are as open-minded as her. RE: dex, sin, dex - Faustus - August 16, 2023 don't worry about it!! <3
How strange. A gaggle of coyotes have taken a piece of this land for themselves, and Faustus finds himself intrigued. She has, supposedly, never heard Latin. This comes as something of a surprise; how far had he strayed from Florentia to where these commonsfolk had never even heard it spoken? You must be a good ambassador if you are willing to chat with someone your kin seems to have prejudice towards, coy, coy little smile. while I cannot speak for my companions as they do not hail from the same land as I, I can assure you I mean no harm to you or your family.and then, his head dips in a bow of respect. Perhaps we could come to an agreement if I am to settle here, yes? RE: dex, sin, dex - Sari - August 23, 2023 Well. He was a polite wolf--even bowed to her, which made her laugh and feel uncomfortable. Please, cousin, she said. There is no need to bow to little old S'ari. Ridiculous. But there was some small part of her that liked it. He spoke of an agreement of some kind. S'ari automatically went into trader mode. Agreements were the lifeblood of the Tribe. Yes,she said, her brown eyes gleaming. What kind of agreement? A trade of some kind? S'ari just loves to trade. |
