Where once lay dead - Reyson - October 05, 2023
Reyson shifted in the mid-afternoon sun. The light glancing along the scars that adorned him. Testament to a life made hard by blood and bile. By demons that walked in the daytime. And often visited him at night.
Though his mind had been quiet since the birth of their children. He knew it would always be there. Always.
He stared at the large blunt paws, claws that had torn and maimed. Legs that had kicked and held walls, and bodies carried on shoulders made broad from genectics and years of war. And he marveled that paws that had seen so much blood and sadness. Harsh realities. Legs and paws that had broken necks and bodies. Could hold his children. Could be gentle.
