blood of the wolf and heart of the lamb - Kadezj - November 14, 2014

Though the difference in discomfort was little, Kadezj could feel parts of his body beginning to heal. The loss of his pride remained the biggest injury he had taken in the loss of his challenge for leadership of the Khalas, but he refused to believe he would not get it back. Like most things, he was set to get worse before he could get better, and it dampened his spirits.

His companion, Justice, was off seeking a place for to them to stay on a longer term or who knew what else. He was left alone, inflammation throbbing through his veins on the feet of a thousand buffalo stampeding around his blood. He lay curled up at the base of a pine tree, his nose tucked into his tail, his size diminutive in this position. He could have passed for a full blooded coyote like this - weak and fetal, just waiting to be culled.

Kadezj flattened his ears. His eyes were wide, aimed in the direction of the Lake - but he could not see it from here at the edge of the wood. He did not like being far from it. He needed as much fresh water as he could take in. But the night air was below freezing, and he could not force himself to make the journey. Instead, he was forced to do the only thing he could: engage his own dangerous mind.

◆may I?◆

Ashton had been traveling with the girl Arina, the robust yet delicate Half-Sight fae. He didn't leave her side until he could make sure she had a ppace to bunker down for the night, before he presented the babe to his leader, Per Per Per Peritty Per Per Per.
And not too long after he had gone back through the woods, he saw another lupine.
And smelled blood.

"Sup, there, dude."

Trotting up to the prone russet, the golden hippie tried his luck at not being intimidating, though ittake much for him to do that, his hhandsome and unmarred frame showing he was not one who was fond of battle.
Emeralds gazed over the company, and Ash wondered how badly injured the dude was.

RE: blood of the wolf and heart of the lamb - Meldresi - November 14, 2014

*jumps in*

She really was not a good mother. Wandering around far from her own territory, from the protection of her two loyal bodyguards. Exposing herself and her pups to the elements...she really didn't care. She had faith in her goddess; that her pups would survive, even a few.

She was travelling closer to Ouroboros and the new pack, Caldera, was it? and she was going to scout out for herbs. Not collect them, mind you, but mark her scent where she found them. The night air froze the plants and made them unusable for any type of medicinal purposes. The pregnant priestess reached the lake, where most of the herbs she was searching for were to be found.

Meldresi froze when she saw two males near the lake, one laying down, injured, the other inquiring of his health. Curious, the priestess walked forward, warily, ready to bolt if one of them were aggressive (which was most likely to be the injured one). "Is your wound healing alright?"

RE: blood of the wolf and heart of the lamb - Kadezj - November 15, 2014

Thanks for joining, guys! Sorry Kadezj is such a grumpy jerk XD
--
He missed nothing, tightly wound though his body was, he was no where near sleeping. He would not dare to even close his eyes for more than a blink when Justice was away, and knew better than to leave his back unguarded. That was why it was up against a tree at present. But the tightly coiled hybrid shifted slightly when the ground started to crunch with the sounds of a creature approaching, and he stiffened his front legs into a half sit, spine curved and hackles raised until the creature - a wolf - came into view and called to him.

Kadezj answered his question with a low growl, his ears tipped forward and lips pulled back in a full snarl. He gave a few displacement signals - a lip lick and brief look away - but his warning was more overtly aggressive than mere avoidance of conflict. He did not want to appear weak in the face of a stranger - particularly because he was weak at present.

When there was suddenly a second wolf, his heart began to pound. Her mannerisms were more formal and less threatening than the approach of the first, but the "ambush" triggered a gut reaction in the Khalas wolf. Kadezj jerked his head back and forth between his visitors, and lunged forward, snapping his teeth at the air. He was still several yards from either wolf and no where near to initiate any sort of contact, and his movements were intentional, albeit hindered by bruising and infection. His warrior's heart may have wanted to fight for each beat it took, but there was nothing that said "come at me" about his body language now. In fact, it all said go away.

Quote: it's perfectly fine, if I can survive Shadow and Ragnar, you're just peachy. W_^V

Ashton felt the air heat as the russet twisted himself, coilin and snarlin and throwin his temper in the faces of him and a babe who could have been the prodigy of Mother Natures Nocturnal Face. She had a grace about her, in truth, it shook him a bit. The yellow teen coulda swore it was nothin but shadows behind him. She came as if she had been there the whole time.
Ehe..

Attention back to the dude.
He was really pissed wasn't he?

"Ok, homie bolonie ponie, chillax. I'm not the type to try a fight, unless it's for food, and even so,...I'm pretty positive fish don't have fur, snarl, and throw fits. Not here to fight, man."

As Ash spoke, his eyes observed his target, a hurt fellow lupine. A potential patient. His mind drifted back to the training he received from his nana, the pack sage, and he pieced pieces of the wolfs actions together.
The patient had signs of aggression,(obviously, like he almost could feel the spittle on his face, c'mon now Ash),but the behavior didn't belong to one who succumbed to The Curse..rabies. Especially with the sign of remaining intelligence in his orbs, and his posture one of defense, not attack, this brute was still sane.
The tinge of blood and sickness that arrived in the wind held his scent, showing h had a sickness, but a minor and easily fixable one. Just infection. A little gash that needed treatment, or else, it could turn a whole sailin ship of 'happy' to capsize.
Dead.

His foresty irises readjusted back to the present, and he turned to the spy/assassin/dark/pregnate?/ mom?/ idefkok babe, the lovely shadow woman who magically came together from seemingly air, and asked a bit warily,

"Hey, sweets, names Ashton. Soon to be Doctor of RedHawk Caldera. Are you more of a Doctor or a Nurse sorta babe? Cause this dude may as we'll be spellin his name on a death warrant without any help, and I might not be able to do this alone."

The sun plaited hippie had no reason to hesitant wen it came from asking for help. He had no pride to protect. It's either 'ask and get an answer' or 'dont be involved'.
Too late for option 2, isn't it, Ash?

RE: blood of the wolf and heart of the lamb - Meldresi - November 16, 2014

The injured male responded defensively, viewing the odd pair as a threat, which was a wild guess. Meldresi, examined the wolf, identifying the hybrid's injuries quickly before reinforcing the yellow male's pleas of peace. "I will not pose much of a threat to you, regardless if I want to fight, given my current condition. All-in-all, there is nothing to fear from me."

The younger male, which one might call a "hippie", talked to her next, with a very carefree tone befitting his title. She did not appreciate the names she was being given. "Sweets" "Babe". It was something a younger woman, or a girl might be called, not one a few years from her dotage like Meldresi. "I will be the doctor here, if the patient will allow someone to treat him."

Irritation licked up and down Kadezj spine, and his warnings to back off did not seem to be met with much success. Neither were they met with offense - neither wolf continued their approach, but they did not seem to understand that his signals were asking for a wide berth. Perhaps it was true that the inhabitants of this valley did not war with one another as the nomads of the dessert did, but it was hard for the hybrid to understand or believe. If they really meant him no harm, why then did they not understand the common sense canine language of back away and let me breathe?

He was further incensed by the roving tone of the male before him, who spoke in a language that did not seem to match either of the two Kadezj himself was versed in. Interspersed in the language were a few words in the common tongue he could pick out and understand - he was apparently not here to fight. What was the good for nothing here to do then, intrude on an injured man and raise his heart rate? Kadezj's growling did not take a break, and he continued to flash his front teeth, eyes primarily directed at the self-proclaimed doctor.

But the female took her turn, showing a glimmer of irritation herself, though it seemed to be directed at the other male's behavior - not his own. Perhaps she too could see that this ambush was not a good idea. But apparently that didn't apply to her - who seemed also to think herself a doctor. Kadezj felt his back bristling against the trunk of the tree behind him, and grew uncomfortable with his posturing. But he did not discontinue it.

He could not deny that he needed medical attention, but these two strangers would not gain access to his body so easily. A healer required above all things trust -- and neither wolf had his. "Elat irge, maegii, annevalat anna," he spat between growls, tail lashing like a whip.

RE: blood of the wolf and heart of the lamb - Ashton - November 19, 2014

Hell, this dude needed a serious chill pill.
Our at least, a blue cap shroom.
One or the other would sure as Satan's Santa Hat be nice.

Ash wasn't steeping back, but decided to put his soft blonde belt on the ground, and wait for this wild to cool down.
Then he focused on the dark Wolf.
Damn, he definitely underestimated her age, because even though she looked like a slim and sweet darlin, she sure did sound like a 5 year old elder.
He couldn't tell, but unless he was into the older types, he kinda wasn't, he would note to not vall the gal any sorta pet names like he did with friends.
So what would he call her?

"Alright then, miss doc, what do ya think we should do with him, cause I don't think the dude even speak anything I know of. "

RE: blood of the wolf and heart of the lamb - Meldresi - November 19, 2014

She was used to dealing with uncooperative patients. War victims were commonly so, especially warriors. He was definitely a part of the latter, a small hybrid warrior of the plains. The priestess knew what culture this injured wolf came from, the Khals of the plains, vagabonds, bandits, cruel beasts. She had yet to learn the language, but she recognized the language. Especially the word maegii. Witches.

Meldresi eyed the blonde male, who wondered what to do next. "Let him be. If he does not wish to be saved then let him attempt to survive on his own."

RE: blood of the wolf and heart of the lamb - Kadezj - November 24, 2014

As the two debated what to do with him, Kadezj continued to wonder why these foreigners clearly had no sense of how to avoid conflict. There was a lot of misunderstanding here - but it wasn't just of Kadezj's native language. He could speak the common tongue just fine, and the choice not to was intentional. It spoke further to his irk that they still refused to heed his warning to give him space. Clearly, they both sought to heal him - but if that were truly their intention, he did not imagine they would go about it by bickering over him and ignoring his very clear requests of them.

Since his posturing was obviously not direct enough, he mustered whatever strength he had to lunge and snap offensively, this time snapping his teeth toward the male wolf, careful not to come in contact with him but with coming well within the other's space. "Stand back," he said, using their words, and rounding to snap at the female for good measure as well. He made direct eye contact with both, gaze snapping quickly between the two. He tried one last time to use his body alone to convey an exceptionally clear message: I am injured and do not trust that you will not kill me.

RE: blood of the wolf and heart of the lamb - Ashton - December 02, 2014

Ashton took the dark woman's words to heart, minding the subtle confidence she had in her words. Obviously, the ba-,eh, lady, knew weekday she was talking about. It looked like something she had something in her eyes that took a thousand years to get itself lodged firmly in those violet irises.

He sent her a nod, a made a motion ta scuffle hours golden hide closer to her direction, when the russet made his wish known for the millionth time.
Ash was starting to get pissed off.
Had he been there another second, he woulda probably lost a few hairs on his golden self.

A low rumble slid in response to the threat, but nothing more. The teen sat his lower end closer to the shadow dame, and spoke to her.

"I guess he's not the 'ready and willing' type, eh? He's obviously not mute, that's a positive side. "
