my fear is a lie - Nefarious - November 14, 2014

Opening this up as an all welcome warden thread. This is a little outdated so go ahead and presume to bump it to current time. :-)

The morning was just as frigid as the ones before, consistent in a long line of frigid mornings that had passed, and ones yet to come. Winter, the Shaman knew, was finally upon them. It had stolen in like Amaroq, the Great White Wolf in the night to steal the souls of those whose offerings were not enough to appease him. Stealthy, silent, deadly. Luckily, when Nefarious been a small child, his and Suluk's combined offerings had been enough to keep the hungry God away, and even into his adult hood, so Nefarious could say that he still had his soul, even though he had heard the screams of the souls that Amaroq had taken, the poignant scent of blood, coupled with the sweet scent of decaying flesh remained burned into Nefarious' memories and when it neared the night of Amaroq it came back with full force, pushing him to make an offer better than the previous year's. Amaroq was not something that the Shaman wanted to ever come face to face with, especially if he was rumored to be ten times more horrific than Sos himself.

Despite the nipping cold, Nefarious was equipped well enough with fur, which had grown coarser over the course of the autumn months. He was part Arctic, he knew, which probably gave him a tiny percentile of an advantage against warding off the winter chill that was known to seep into the marrow of bones, but then again he didn't know for sure. Black, leathery nose lowered to take in the urine markings as the Kesuk finally reached the borders of the Creek. Though the Shaman's priorities were geared more towards the trades that would assist in his practices, he also enjoyed the repetitive motion of border patrolling and figured that it wouldn't hurt to aid in them, to put some effort towards the Warden trade despite that it wasn't overly pressing in his personal list.

Pumpkin orange eyes stared out at the free territories beyond for a few moments, un-moving, studying the fleeing shadows as the sun rose into the sky for a few moments before he picked a direction at random and began his first patrol of the Creek's borders, suspecting that he would pick up the routine quick enough.

RE: my fear is a lie - Saber - December 08, 2014

◆joinin ya for Warden. :P ◆

Saber had two other lupines attempt to make their way to the borders, only for the flash of teeth and snarl of a savage bear to ward them off. And with tails tucked between their legs, they hauled ass back from whence they came.
The FrostFur kept his now neutral pace even, as he kept his patrol fair for today. He desired to find his brother and have a nice little brotherly bond with the fellow 3 year old, but duties reigned triumphant over such matters. He had to show he was pulling his share for the family, as well.

Pretty soon, his travel led him into the path of another. A dark wolf, a member of the Creek, and if he wasn't mistaken, this one went by the name of 'Nefarious'.

"Hello, there, " the gravely callout was issued.

Saber kept his body prideful, though his shoulders and tail were well aware of the slight hierarchy difference between the two, so he adjusted them properly, lightly lowering his banner.

Thank you for joining this! :-) Also, I'm going to go ahead and bump this up to sometime after the meeting so it makes more sense. :D

It turned out that Nefarious had been right in the regards to picking up a routine quick enough. As far as the actual patrol of the borders there wasn't really anything to it aside from pausing a good few feet along the way to added his own scent to the invisible borders, to freshen them and also claim himself as apart of their pack. The only time the patrolling became tricky was when it involved a trespasser, loner, or an Outrider. Loners wasn't something that he really had to deal with beyond holding down the fort until a leader appeared to take over the situation because he had no power to accept or reject them. A trespasser was delicate given how the Creek handled them. In Akkuma they were encouraged to kill and though there had been no instances of it actually happening, likely because the loners valued their lives too much to test to see if Suluk would truly kept to his word (which he did) or not, but Nefarious figured it was likely much the same as a loner. Detain them until someone of more authority came to the situation. Outriders likely were after information, and that was something, until he learned a bit more about the Creek he now called home, Nefarious would likely have to hand off to one of the wolves that had been there much longer than him and could tell them more in-depth information.

A gruff greeting was issued to Nefarious, coming from his side of the borders which caused the shaman to pause in his steps. A glimpse was given over his shoulder to study the male that approached him. Nefarious did not know his name, and assumed as he did with everyone he met that he'd been around much longer than Nefarious himself. At some point, Nefarious knew he'd have to stop assuming that about everyone but for now it likely remained fairly true. Nefarious stance changed to one of neutral respect, saving the submissiveness for the authority of the Creek – Scimitar and now Kaskara, the newly appointed Beta. “Hello,” Nefarious returned the greeting, before he looked away, towards the free territory beyond their borders once, a sweeping gesture before he turned so that he was facing his pack mate figuring it was safe to give the other his full attention. Or if not his full attention then, at the very least, most of it. Since the word of this 'Shadow' fellow, the father of Paar's unborn children had been addressed at the meeting Nefarious had throwing himself into patrols, in a want to protect the exotic woman and her children, and because he knew he needed to earn his place as a valuable member here even if his shamanism was seen as unorthodox.

Nefarious attempted to be respectful with his practices and faith, performing his rituals and building his alters to Atka and Sos close to his own den. If he were to perform any sort of Voodoo directed towards the Creek it would be of protection as opposed to anything dark. Those magicks were saved for the enemies of the Creek and those who deserved to be cursed at the shaman's own discretion. “I am afraid I do not know your name,” Nefarious admitted to the other male, though this was expected as far as Nefarious could see since they'd only ever seen each other in passing and at the meeting. “I am Nefarious.” The shaman introduced, just in case and because it was only polite, after all.

Quote: not a prob, T.
Every time in look at your prof for Fari, & see Andy, I just fall in love all over again.

Saber regarded the multi colored pelt holder with a serene gaze, calm, no turmoil within his frozen irises. This was a pack mate, and no hostility would be held to him. A greeting was returned in his, and a question following suite.

"I am Saber, brother of the Alpha and Beta of the very pack we are in, friend. Scimitar and Kaskara are both blood siblings of mine. Now may I ask of your name?"

A curious and friendly incantation of his head was offered to the agouti.
Saber recalled seeing the fellow Creek at the meeting, yet still, had not known who he was.

Andy's great and I've found he tends to have that effect on people. ;P

As soon as Nefarious admitted that he did not know the other male's name an introduction was soon to follow, to which the shaman lent a velveteen ear. Following the male's name — Saber, Nefarious now knew — also came an extra tidbit of information. It would seem that his companion was brother to the authority of the pack, whom accordingly, Nefarious was able to put the pieces together and came to the conclusion that was all family. This did not outwardly (or inwardly, for that matter) bother the shaman for Akkuma had been largely ran by Kesuks', yet there was a slight moment of trepidation in which Nefarious was unsure if Saber was trying to impress him by naming off the Alpha and Beta as blood siblings, or if it was a warning. Though Nefarious was more of a master at subtly than his father, he could not tell if Saber's intentions had been malificent or informative. Unsure, Nefarious did not longer upon it and chose not to comment figuring his silence was better in this situation.

"I am Nefarious," He had only given his true name to Paarthurnax, spurred forth into confessing it by some strange feeling of trust for the heavily pregnant female though he's barely known her. Rarely did he ever speak the name Anik, possessive over it as Suluk had been over him. Apparently, possessiveness was a trait that was susceptible to bein learned. It was not one that Nefarious was overly proud nor fond of but it was one he had picked up to his great disdain nevertheless. Following his introduction the shaman fell to silence, figuring that if there was anything else that Saber was curious about he would ask.

RE: my fear is a lie - Saber - December 17, 2014

Saber was expecting the man to say what lineage he came from, but after finding only silence to meet Saber simply shrugged it off. It wasn't an issue if Nefarious did not desire to say his bloodlines, but it did seem like an open thing to do. Perhaps some did not with their family known, yet Saber was proud of his.

"Pleasure to make your acquaintance, Nefarious. I do hope we can have a bit of chat over patrol, because the more second that waste away, another idiot attempts to sneak into our lands. Kas and I already had to chase out a couple of loners who were pestering Bazi. I rather no one else be in harms way. "

Saber awaited for the company to hopefully agree. Everyone had gotten the eyeful of what Shadow's minions couple and would do, if n the chance, and whether it was just loners, or actual Bypass members, Saber would damn sure not give anyone that chance.
Ever again.

Whether or not the Nefarious offered his sire name of Kesuk during introduction depended, typically, upon his mood. It lingered little on the matter of pride. The shaman had plenty of pride for the legacy of the name he carried, despite that it was not his by birth. The fact that he had been adopted had not kept Suluk from treating Nefarious any different than he did his own blood, neither had it deterred his siblings love for him; nor he them for that matter. There were times when he felt the flaunting it was arrogant and useless if only because it was not a name well known in these Wilds, as far as he knew at any rate. Currently, Nefarious how to assume that he was the only Kesuk resided here even if it wasn't particularly true. There was an exchange of pleasantries and Nefarious bobbed his head into likewise manner when Saber spoke of it being a pleasure. The slight push to get the patrol on the road irritated the shaman a small bit, but he hid it very well. "Of course," Nefarious murmured in concurrence, being the first to take the steps of the patrol.

Velveteen ear flickered lazily towards Saber when the other male spoke of not pushing another idiot sneak into their lands. A muted snort of amusement left the shaman's back, learhery nostrils. He had ideas of how they could ward off potential trespassers but whether it would be an idea accepted or spurred by the leadership of the pack Nefarious did not know. "They will learn their lesson," The shaman had plenty of curses in his arsenal that he could perform on those, as his companion put it, idiotic enough to cross into claim lands. Or poisons in the form of a gift. It depended on how legal it needed to be to get the point across. The shaman likes the side of neutrality, favoring neither Atka or Sos but balancing them both, though he harbor to darkness in his heart, the area in which Sos reigned supreme, like every man did.

Instead of spurning it, there were times in which Nefarious embraced it. There was no use in fighting what would never go away, he felt, at least when it came to internal affairs.

RE: my fear is a lie - Saber - January 05, 2015

He seemed much wiser than previously annunciated on his years, for it seemed as though he predicted the foxes demise. Saber canted a head at the note, his face one who bore a guarded curiousity, without hostility.

"Have you too, taken well to the Creeks land, friend? Many find it hard to settle in. "

Saber merely attempted to start conversation, a friendly sort of ordeal. An attempt to learn his pack mates earned favor in his heart, so he tried to. If a pack was to be efficient and problemless, they had to be close.
