At nearly three months old, Deja was growing like a weed. Though his eyes never lost their puppy blue, his fur had gone from puppy-soft to wirey as his guard hairs began to develop. He had long, knobby legs and a thin, disproportionate body.
Today, he hunted a cricket in the long grass. His big coyote-like ears rotated like satellite dishes as he pinpointed his prey’s chirps.
“Heeerree crickyyyy,” Deja sang.
