with the sea air whipping at his cheeks, raiyuk ran the rabbit trails.
the few trees he crossed beneath were barren. the shed leaves crushed beneath his feet. he came to a place of soft grass and stopped there, shoulders sloping, as he caught his breath and hunted for signs of a meal. soon the visitors would be returning to their mountain; he wanted to leave a parting gift for seal, at the very least, and maybe she would be tempted to come back and visit.
something moved among the grasses, and he pointed his nose towards it, hunkering down to watch and readied to spring in to action.
