motherbreath - Chakliux - December 03, 2023
chakliux returned home on the afternoon of the second day.
he had caught two seabirds; he had dragged them back to the lodge of @Tullik. the stain of old blood slowly faded upon his face, which was drawn with a somber expression.
his berrybright eyes looked also for @Marina. for each he had brought a bird. the seal hunter man was tired, and stayed just outside the lodge, his back against the good pillars as he stared at the sea.

She'd scarcely strayed from Tullik's side since Chakliux had left them together. Marina found comfort in the woman's presence, though she scarcely found it in herself to speak to her. It was difficult to find the energy for conversation.
She brightened to see Chakliux's return, however, if only by fractions. Marina glanced to Tullik, half hanging back for a moment so that they might go to him together. And when she did reach him, she pressed her nose to his shoulder, still altogether too exhausted to search for any words she might say. There was no need to play at normalcy, not here. She was just glad to see him returned and unharmed.
