fangs of nyx - Amekaze - November 20, 2014 @Silvermane -- ah, sorry i took about a thousand years to get this up. D: you can backdate it or whatever since i think silvermane is pretty hurt right now? idc! my timelines are flexible so whatever works, i will roll with it

It had been a while she since had traveled much beyond the foothills immediately bordering the Spire, and while she did not have a particularly specific goal in mind, she knew she could find something worth devoting the rest of the day to. Namely, she was interested in seeing what plantlife still remained here in the waning days of autumn, and if they were ones of any use. Since she was being mindful of Swiftcurrent, she had swung well to the northern reaches of the wetlands and decided to do her searching there. Once she had reached a point well away from the Creek, she blended into the shadow of the wetlands and stalked eagerly onward. Head and nose low in search, she looked beyond the brackish odor for something to catch her interests. RE: fangs of nyx - Silvermane - November 21, 2014 Silvermane had been scouting several parts of the land, for more of the fungi he had come to learn of, the colours and sizes stuck in his head, he had to find them for the preparing meal he had begun to make. He had realized the taste of several mushrooms could make food alot more splendid, or could drug the food heavily, and Silvermane was fine with any of those two. Perhaps he could grow to serve some food to his pack, so that he may earn some little trust, and then maybe they would think abit more on the electing. Odds are always bought he thought to himself, the previous days he had been silent, and watching. Now, he could finally start something. He began to hear a rustling of leaves near to where he was standing, easily, baring the moment, he pounced towards it, the little rabbit fleeing, he chased it down, picking it by the scruff, and crunching its neck in between his jaws, blood spilling down his mouth, he quickly licked it away, and carried it away, but as he was walking back to where he was standing, he saw a glimpse of fur, and of another wolf. He stepped back, and put it down, and gave out a soft bark to the stranger he had seen, this time hopefully not sparking conflict. Now and then, strange gnarls of roots and plants prompted her to stop for further investigation, which usually included an up-close sniff and perhaps a lick, but none were deemed worthy enough of collection. In response, she felt a subtle tingle on her tongue after lingering long enough to check out a strange plant with curious little lives. It had smelled bitter, too, but she had only passed over it quickly. Evidently, it had been enough to stick with her. Not long after, as she licked at her teeth to chase away the taste, she heard a bark. This flicked her ears to attention and she raised her head to view a silvered male not far ahead with a bloodied rabbit in his possession. She approached with a hawkish stare keenly zeroed in on him. RE: fangs of nyx - Silvermane - November 24, 2014 . Silvermane was fairly worried that the wolf saw him, and he immediately came to recognize she was a female, but he immediately looked away as she stared. He quickly decided to look back, but in a polite manner, and he responded solemnly "Greetings, to you too" he said, and he quickly licked his lips, wiping the salty but bittersweet taste away from his lips, and gazed at her. Perhaps it would be polite to offer something, atleast that way he could not begin with conflict, and get away from this, with more meat than he might. . Art thou hungry? he spoke poshly, lightly mocking the formality of her tone, but not something too offensive, He quickly put his paw over the rabbit, and pushed it abit forward. Presenting it, Perhaps its too bloodied for the female.. he thought, but he didn't mind, take it or leave it, as long as she doesnt speak of where he was, but he doubted she knew Nocticarsador Bypass. She was not here for trouble for she had no mindset for the notion at the time, and it seemed he was aiming for the same. As far as she could tell, anyway. To his words, she was not quite sure what to make of his phrasing, as curious as it was. She knew she was strange on her wording at times as well but she could appreciate the sentiment behind the offer all the same. Continually, she was finding herself glad he was not of the Creek. RE: fangs of nyx - Silvermane - December 03, 2014 OMG!! So sorry it took forever, I had musical rehearsals XP Also, could I use this for my Naturalist thread? I dont know exactly if I had already asked.. Silvermane was delighted to hear she didnt want anything, and when she had finished talking, he had almosts gone back to swiping up the rabbit, before she had asked him a peculiar question, Mostly the meal, he spoke I am searching for a peculiar type of mushroom, I do not think you know its name, he said It is a small, brown mushroom, with a slightly long and thin stem, cupped cap, no scales and steep gills... he continued, he doubted, however, that the female even knew what a gill was. Another way to notice them is by their abnormal effects, he spoke, not mentioning fully that they were hallucinogenic, and they had those wierd toxic attributes, which he had still to name, that caused those effects. RE: fangs of nyx - Amekaze - December 05, 2014 no worries! i'm just now catching up after a week of like.. no posts bc work/holidays/blahblahblah. and sure do whatever you gotta do with it ^^

The meal was the obvious answer, while the mushroom added a depth to it she had not foreseen. Her ears quivered intently with interest. But, the pale-furred male most certainly had her attention now. Canting her head subtly, she asked RE: fangs of nyx - Silvermane - December 07, 2014 BTW, Silvermane has not yet discovered what a Toxin is, so thats what hes talking about for the Pulchra Venenum
Silvermane had smiled slightly as she remarked on the similarity between a fish and a mushroom, strange, how he had never noticed. He was happy she was aggressive, or atleast Silvermane hoped so, and that he was able to keep this fight-free. He smiled slightly, but quickly went back to his casual expression. Its about the toxic attributes they contain, which I currently call Pulchra venenum but I would just call it something smaller sooner or later, something short, like Toxinics, or Toxins.. he said at the beginning Once digested, the user begins to experience.. Hallucinogenic symptoms he continued, feeling abit like a smart-ass, but he enjoyed it. Finally he could sound smart. However, if you consume the wrong ones, they do not end well. he spoke, there are also very venomous ones, which have the potentiality to harm, or kill. There are many different ones, some taste well with meat, but are not so potent, such as Truffle, or perhaps even Champignons RE: fangs of nyx - Amekaze - December 10, 2014 <style type="text/css">.ame {margin:auto; width:530px; text-align:justify;font-size:11px;} .ame q {color:#7a2638; font-family:georgia;font-weight:bold;letter-spacing:1.3px;} .ame p {margin:0px;text-indent:30px;}</style> Easily, he had her attention. She picked up quickly just by his tone (and soon after, the subject matter he spoke on), that he seemed to know what he was talking about. Toxins and so forth, she deemed this a reasonable answer.
RE: fangs of nyx - Silvermane - December 11, 2014 It is latin for Beautiful Poison, he spoke, I call it for its distinguishable properties granting the hallucinogenic effects on the body, he continued, it was a very strange topic to speak of, but he was glad he could share his beliefs of this theory. He had needed to remember its exact categories. So far he knew, two types grow most commonly in Cow manure, but also in any other grass or grain fed animal. The other type grows by rivers, at a premature age far enough from the water so that it doesnt overflow, but close enough that when the plant matures and the mycelium spreads it can consume the water. Alot of plants have been mythed to have special traits, such as how Cinammon is an aphrodisiac, or Morning Glories have high levels of Pulchra Venenum, and a inclusive Ergoline Alkaloids, which include one which lowers the blood pressure, which would help pregnant females, and thus, I am thinking of naming it Ășteroine, which is a mix of Utero, which means womb, and ine, meaning resembling to, even in english. Also, there is another substance, which I have not named yet, but has a name in my head for it, "Ergine" it would be called. he said However, now that they sound different, something tells me to change the name, he said. His paw brushed against the dirt. He should not tell her too much of the information, but now that she knew everything, there was nothing to hide. Hallucinogen he said, They tend to grow either on manure, mostly grass or straw fed animals, or rivers, but the ones by the streams are fairly rarer. he continued. He is giving out way to much free knowledge, and knowledge is power. Would this information gather useful in your case? he asked, if she was not planning to become stoned, then, there cant be a reason, and if there was, he would probably ask for a price. Almost, she sought to taste the word for herself again now knowing what it stood for, but she settled for a slow, thoughtful nod instead. While unaware of the full depths of the possibilities of hallucinogens, she still aimed to understand them from where she stood -- lacking personal experience on the matter, but with fierce curiosity fueled by her deeply-seated desire for knowledge of all sorts.
Then, she nodded as he answered, wondering if perhaps deer or maybe the mountain goat's manure would suit the shrooms' cause. She didn't exactly know of any nearby cattle. Whether or not he accepted, she would linger in his company for as long as she could. All the while, the goal was to learn. Only when the time was deemed right would she return to her home with a little more to consider when it came to the details of plants. And while it wasn't quite in the most "medicinal" of senses as she had hoped, it was something. She would not return to the Sunspire empty-handed. |
