Masquerade had stepped to fill the vacancy, and the Rise had turned in a show of fangs.
Riley contemplated this. It went to show you never knew the way the wind would blow. Once upon a time, Riley heard an expression that stuck with him: Every man has a secret heart.
It turns out, every wolf at that grim meeting surprised him. Riley didn't think Masque would ever forget that moment when all eyes turned to her, yet none backed her. What would this mean for her future here?
