shadow - Sialuk - January 10, 2024

if you're tagged, please join! or PM me if you want to assume some powerplay. i don't think sia would have this convo without all of them present, sans panuk who's in moontide / on NPC. <3

Her visits to both Brecheliant and the Copse complete, Sialuk spent a long day resting her muscles in the comfort of the ulaq, atop the doe skin which had seen much of her small family's life over the past year. The ancestors had once whispered upon the wind that she would have sons and daughters here. They had not been wrong. @Maggak and @Acrux—followed swiftly by @Panuk and @Rolayne—had come into her life.

The mountain had also given her two lovely and adoring partners: @Elentari and @Argent. When warmth came to the wilds again, they would be wife and husband to her. The Ostrega smiled at the thought, a flutter in her chest at knowing her children would be able to participate in the joining of three hearts.

But there was another thing that came with the warming of the world, and Sialuk wanted to know her family's thoughts. It was why she called upon them tonight. The air was still in the ulaq, though far from stale, and she nestled herself on the doe pelt as she waited for her kin to gather.

RE: shadow - Elentari - January 10, 2024

Time and rest had served her well. A sore limb and cracked bone mended. Strengthened. Renewed.

The dark Archer was grateful to Alaric and his talent for healing. He had even come into leadership now at Moonspear. A role well deserved.

Fully restored, Elentari could get back to hunting. To feeding her family, her pack. To watching her mountain home range from points high above. To being deeply involved in the growth of her children, who had sprouted beautifully.

Deep in the heart of the cold season, she knew that the melt would bring change. Change that she and Sialuk had endured once before. Their time would come, their bodies receptive. In her heart, there was always room for more. She hadn't expected to love motherhood so much.

But how would Maggak and Acrux feel about younger brothers and sisters? Would they want such a thing? Their best interest, as always, was first. She and Sialuk seemed to be sharing the same thought, when her voice called out.

Elentari arrived with a freshly cured strip of sun dried meat in her jaws. Crooning, she ducked into the warmth of the ulaq, nestling herself close and tight at Sialuk's side. She sang a low, sweet note, pawing at a pale muzzle gingerly.

RE: shadow - Rolayne - January 11, 2024

Only post, Rolayne can be skipped.

Rolayne was having the time of his life hanging out with Mom. His tail never ceased to wag and he always had a smile on his face. They went from pack to pack, meeting all sorts of new wolves, new to him at least. He had run around a bit, but was never more than a shout away from Sialuk. He finally came to a stop beside her, worn out from the adventures. He plopped himself down next to her, curled up, and fell fast asleep to the voices of the others.

RE: shadow - Acrux - January 12, 2024

returned from his brief stint outside the familiar mountainous terrain, acrux arrived just as the call for family was sung into the crisp night air. a flurry of emotions and questions from earlier in the day, he settled the stirring in his chest before pressing towards the ulaq

once arrived, he slipped himself amongst those already gathered and joined the pile of warm bodies and familial comfort.

RE: shadow - Sialuk - February 07, 2024

permission from maggak to powerplay her in this thread. i think argent is out of moonspear during this thread, but you're more than welcome to hop in, rachel!

The three children gathered along with Elentari, and Sialuk pressed her paw into her fiance's with a soft smile. The ulaq was warm, and not only because many bodies filled it just now. It was also the warmth of love and kinship. It was a warmth that no sun could provide, Sialuk knew, and one that she had slowly brought into existence with the help of her small and blossoming family.

Her heart beat steadily as she began. Soon, when the days grow longer, I will grow restless, she said, her eyes searching each of the three children. When the moon goes round twice after this, more children will come from my body. Brothers and sisters to you. Sialuk let this sink in for a moment.

This happens to every woman when she meets her second spring, Sialuk explained. It will happen for Elentari, too. And one day, Maggak. She looked to Elentari then, wondering if her wife-to-be would wish to add anything to this.

RE: shadow - Elentari - February 13, 2024

Sialuk explained everything well. But as a mother and a wife to be, the Archer felt she wanted to add her own touches to this important conversation.

Maggak, Acrux and Rolayne were young. But old enough she felt, that they should be presented with the facts. The truth of what was to come, when the flame of desire compelled her and Sialuk. To not be alarmed by the change in their bodies, in the roundness to be in their bellies.

And most importantly, she wanted them to know, that their feelings mattered. That they would be loved no less.

"You will have younger brothers and sisters. To love, to guide. To teach and share the joy of your lives with." Her eyes danced between the trio. "Would you like that, hm?" Oh how she hoped they would! If they were anything like her, the same love she had of being a mother had surely passed on to them, for others.

RE: shadow - Acrux - February 14, 2024

he was content to lay in the pile of bodies, limbs intertwined and heart joyful. anaa spoke then, and acrux listened with pointed curiosity. restless days, brothers and sisters, talk of women...and then it clicked. "this is when women become warm," he shared with a questioning tilt of his head, as if asking what he'd stated had been correct.

then mother spoke, and her question resulted in a delighted thumping of his tail against the earth. babies — baby siblings! "i want to be braatax, always," he shared with a glance towards maggak, and then the sleeping rolyane.

it was at the sight of his milk-brother that a wave of uncertainty washed over the boy. "the new brothers and sisters will not have to leave like roly and panuk did, right?" he knew why his brothers had gone back to the shore, he'd understood now that he was older, but that did not ease the displeasure he still felt from being separated from them.

he still thought them brothers, still thought anaa theirs too, still thought the spear their true home. he needed to hear these new siblings would not be sent away. he did not want them if they would not remain.

RE: shadow - Sialuk - February 16, 2024

Sialuk leaned into Elentari as she spoke, feeling their spirits pulse in that familiar, tandem rhythm. When Acrux spoke of women being warm, the starwoman nodded. He had no doubt learned some of these things already. He shared his wish of being a brother again, causing Sialuk to breathe a sigh of relief. Maggak seemed indifferent, or at least not against the idea.

They will stay, Sialuk assured him.

She knew, between now and the next year, she would explain how children came about, just as her own mother had. How a man and a woman would share one another's bodies in warmth and kindness. For now, she left it an abstract idea. When they were ready, she had no doubt they would ask more questions about how new life came to be.
