papa was a rolling stone - Surya - January 26, 2024 he left the day after funeral rites for his mother. radha had been laid to rest with all the care in the world. he'd have left sooner, but she'd gotten sick. he'd seen it, and vowed he wouldn't depart her side until she was gone. he stuck to that promise. surya entered the oasis as a shell of the man he could have been. born with such promise—even as a bastard. such joy and zest for life. like a candle at bedtime, that flame had been snuffed out. all that remained was flesh and bone— and anger. that had never left him, at least. the agouti wolf slaked his thirst at one of the pools, drinking greedily. it had been a ways to travel, and he knew he wasn't done yet. maa had told him aditya spoke to her of the sea; until he reached that shore, he must continue on. and what if he slips through your grasp, as he has so many others? not like he hadn't asked himself that before. he simply wouldn't allow it to happen. he'd find the man or die on his paws trying. and then. . . surya stared empty-eyed at his visage in the rippling water, droplets falling from his chin. RE: papa was a rolling stone - Panacea - January 26, 2024 In the aftermath of his — experience — with the dark-furred man, Panacea had fled. He'd meant to return to the coast, but — not now. Not yet. He couldn't bring this with him, this sense of being irrevocably tainted in some way he could not put to words. The strange agitation had faded from him and left him feeling oddly hollow. Panacea was still unaware of the consequences that might come from the encounter; he knew only that it had been terribly out of character, and that in itself was unsettling. Enough to see him wandering until he found himself in a desert; a wasteland, to his eyes. There was hardly any water to be found. The oasis, then, was a welcome sight. Even the presence of a stranger couldn't put him off of it. Panacea kept a distance between them nonetheless as he approached the water's edge, dipping his head to drink for a moment before he shot a curious glance at the other wolf. He seemed... sad. Hey,He finally broke the silence a bit awkwardly. You alright? RE: papa was a rolling stone - Surya - January 26, 2024 a wolf of brilliant color from nape to tail-tip approached, burning bright even among the relatively lush oasis. even his eyes—a vibrant blue—stood out. surya regarded this apparition with interest, which quickly waned once the other spoke. kya sochte hain?he muttered, only the corner of his mouth lifting in sardonic response. he'd hoped the yearling for an angel, come to rescue him from this hell on earth. then again, he could be. and surya had better remember his manners, if so. i'm fine, surya amended, still gruff but not outwardly hostile. he lifted his head from the water and gave the fiery young man a cool, appraising stare. who asks? |
