All I Can Say Is - Arric - February 05, 2024 Broad black shoulders dusted with snow. He pushed forward from the cover of the willow trees. Hissing in a deep breath as snow from atop fel lacross his back. He gave his red tinted black fur a shake. And blinked the eye rimmed with white. A long luxurious stretch body bowed down. The crack and pop letting him know everything was returning to place. One deep breath in, one out. Eyes closed as the snow fell to dust his face in frosty freckles. She had been practicing her hunting, and had been patrolling along the borders. Growing pains made her moody, sour and ravenous. Her apatite could be satisfied with food, which she was now able to catch for herself. She refused offerings from @Arlette as her way of proving that she was no longer a starving child in need of a food supply. She spent less and less time with the woman, having noticed that her scent was often mingled with the scent of the dark beta. She detested it; when she sought Arlette for some friendly companionship and she ended up reeking of Arric, Cygnet's day would be ruined. She would curl her lip and stalk off, bitter and unwilling to discuss the matter. So when she spotted him in a calm, meditative state, she found herself boiling over. What was he even doing? He wasn't hunting or patrolling, he was just there, with his eyes closed, as if sleeping while still on his feet. Useless. A hateful voice caused the girl to seethe. She crouched, and tested her weight on each ankle, digging her paws into the snow. Now, it was time for her to practice her sparring skills. She bolted toward the meditating beta, fangs bared in a silent warning. RE: All I Can Say Is - Arric - February 07, 2024 Arric heard a noise and opened his eyes to see tiny little angry fluffy pissy pants coming right for his face. And he was both shocked and annoyed. But also. Was he allowed to rough her up? Like for real for real? Because little miss been messing with his head for awhile now. So he went into a defensive crouch. A low growl in his throat. But he wasn't intent to teach a lesson yet. Waiting to see what it was she exactly wanted. Cygnet was a strange little swan and she never really made sense. So he decided to test the waters before making a decision. He'd snap and block at first. decided given his therapy trade He'd not get angrey at first. Also how do you like to do spar threads?
RE: All I Can Say Is - Cygnet - February 07, 2024 How about for giggles we do a dice-roll style thing? Each could start with 20 HP, and for each round we roll for damage...Arric can roll a 1d20, and Cygnet could get like a 1D5 if you like that? :D If that's cool with you, you can start whenever you'd like!
At six months of age, her behavior had largely gone unchecked. Arlette had earned some relatively decent behavior from her simply by feeding her and by being kind; Eshe had gained her respect by healing her from a plant toxin. Otherwise, however, she lived as a wild child, roaming the packlands with an ego that grew as quickly as her bones; an attitude that was ripe and ready for a good correction. Boundaries weren't something she agreed with, and she found herself growing more and more eager to push them. Arric opened his eyes and bristled slightly at her approach, but didn't immediately turn on her with fangs. This ambivalent reaction stoked the girl's ire, and it was with a snarl and a resentful sneer that she was deflected at first by a swift, deft move that made her realize that she might have chosen the wrong wolf to spar with. She was knocked back, but remained on her feet. He didn't lunge for her again, which gave her time to shake out her pelt and stomp one indignant foot on the ground, baring her teeth in a challenge. She didn't want him to just brush her off- she wanted a fight. RE: All I Can Say Is - Arric - February 08, 2024 Alright. So i rolled two times 1d20 and I also rolled a 1d10 if you'd like a longer spar for trade lol. you can choose which one you'd prefer just let me know. Lol rolled a 17 in tabletop on discord. Or a 9 in tabletop.
So arric 20/20 cygnet 3/20 or 11/20 depending on which roll youd prefer ? Right? Arric knew that Cygnet had been given leave to do as she wished. Mostly because she was an orphan and also because she was a bit of an unusual child. So she wanted to tussle did she. Very well. He moved forward, feinted right and used a blunt paw to swipe at her on the left. RE: All I Can Say Is - Cygnet - February 08, 2024 bahaha nice roll! Plus it's super realistic- but we can stretch it out if you want for the trade? Surprisingly, Cygnet rolled a 5 XD
Arric: 15/20 Cygnet: 11/20 She felt certain he was finally going to make a move- and just as suddenly as he did, he side-stepped, leaving her skidding to a halt without making contact. All she saw in her peripheral vision was one of his rangy limbs coming toward her before she was sent rolling, eventually sprawling her feet out to stop her momentum. He'd just flung her around with a flick of his leg, as easily as one might shake off an ant! Naturally, this was unacceptable. When she stood she yelped, learning for the first time what it was like to have bruised ribs. She choked on a sob, uttering a guttural gurgle that turned into a scream as she clenched her teeth through the pain and ambled back toward him again- this time, not quite so fast so he might not dance out of the way as easily. The pain in her ribs was dizzying, but she narrowed her vision on the paw that had hit her- and went straight for that with snapping teeth. RE: All I Can Say Is - Arric - February 08, 2024 I wasn't sure if you wanted a guardian trade with her or not so wanted to give thr option :) rolled a 3
Arric: 15/20 Cygnet: 8/20 Cygnet skidded past him like seal on ice. No cintact and as such when he feinted he nailed her a little harder than he meant too. Evident by the scream of pain she let loose. He felt bad for a second. Then little fluffy pissy pants went homicidal. She was on his paw like white on rice on a paper plate in a winter snowstorm. Her sharp teeth drew a low growl from betwixt clenched teeth. He shifted and used his other paw to lightly press down near her spine and on her bruised rib that she left wide open. Don't leave your injured side open Cyg.he tried to direct. She'd hate him for it he was sure. RE: All I Can Say Is - Cygnet - February 08, 2024 *cackles* no worries! <3
She got a 5 on her roll :) Arric: 10 Cygnet: 8 The taste of blood was nothing new to the girl, but to taste wolf's blood for the first time sent a shock through her- and she couldn't tell if she found it either repulsive or decadent. Still sinking her teeth in, she flicked her tongue across the roof of her mouth to sample the taste again, only to be stupefied as if she'd short circuited. Unable to make up her mind, she left herself wide open to a counter-attack- a simple, but effective one on Arric's part. She screamed in pain, releasing his foot as she writhed and continued to utter a series of shrieks that intensified with each painful breath she took. The pain was intense- so much so, that her body threw her into shock; an experience that her body had been through once before, just moments after her birth when her tail had been bitten off. When she lunged for him again, it was without any logic or reasoning, only fury. Between the size of her jaws and the lack of bite power, there was no way that she could kill him but she'd be damned if she didn't try. Like a small, infuriated shark she aimed to snap at his throat, in retaliation for the pain he'd caused her. RE: All I Can Say Is - Arric - February 08, 2024 lol I rolled a 1 she may beat him purely on rolls lol
Arric: 10/20 Cygnet: 7/20[/ooc] This sparring match was growing uncomfortable in a variety of ways. He felt like he was beating up a little kid. Even if she was already half grown, way overdue for a reality check and a bully. It still didn't feel great. But that didnt stop him from trying to be gentle. She went for his throat and he smacked her away. He wasn't aiming to hurt. Just his throat was no joke. Not while Sparring, Cyg! There was a small anger growing now. This little girl was aiming to hurt him. And it pissed him off a little. RE: All I Can Say Is - Cygnet - February 08, 2024 OHNO- lol I never get rolls like this :O Another 5!
Arric: 5 Cygnet: 8 He'd hit her once- and it had sent her flying. But when he made to swipe for her again, she jerked her head back. She'd learned from her mistake, and when his claws whisked through the fur of her cheek, it was swift and clean enough to rake lines on her cheek just below her eye. The flesh reddened and swelled; above the clawmarks, a labradorite eye fixed him in her sights. Her pupils narrowed to pinpricks, exposing the sliver of green like a flash of lizard-skin. She bared her teeth, and lunged for him again with a fury of snapping jaws as the blood began to trickle from the lowest clawmark and into the corner of her mouth, seeping into the gathering foam and colouring it red. RE: All I Can Say Is - Arric - February 08, 2024 Another 1!
Arric: 5 Cygnet: 7 Arric realized really quickly if he didn't put a stop to this he may seriously hurt her. He wasn't using his full strength and she was bloodied and bruised already. As was his paw and the small skin at the edge of his throat. She jerked her head and blood welled from it. He felt his chest tighten. He felt like a bully. He back tracked this time. Going into a defensive crouch refusing to engage only block her onslaught. Because he truly was afraid to hurt her. Blood and white foam dripped from her jowels. Honestly if satan was real this kid could make him run away. RE: All I Can Say Is - Cygnet - February 08, 2024 rolled a 4!
Arric: 1 Cygnet: 7 He shielded himself well, blocking her jaws and shouldering her aside when she lunged again and again, still fixated on clamping down on his throat. It was too fine of a target, and he was much more adept at blocking it than she was at striking, though her willpower soared. With each block and shove, she learned how to regain her balance, before striking again- only to be pushed away. Her aim was a problem. His sheer size- also a problem. She had, however, gained a tiny bit of ground, or so she thought, when he stepped back and crouched. Her hackles lifted, and she raised the short stump of her tail. What she did not have in strength or experience, she made up for in tenacity. And, being a problem child, she knew when to pivot and try a different angle. She tried a technique he had used earlier- lunging toward him as she had before, only to feint and side-step, aiming for his flank where the tissue between his knee and his belly was soft and thin. RE: All I Can Say Is - Arric - February 08, 2024 rolled a 6
Arric: 1 Cygnet: 1 A tie heh :) Arric had been fighting longer than Cygnet had been even a thought in her mothers mind. And he knew defense well. However the problem was in fact that he was giant and Cygnet was very small. So she could get under his guard a little easier than he had anticipated. She was a little fury fluff and he was a little salty about it. But she was holding her own. Though he missed a step and his growl grew and before he knew it blood welled from his leg. She was a fast learner. He slammed his head forward aiming a headbutt to her side or shoulder hoping to knock her ass over end. And put a stop to this before she did get hurt. Or even him. RE: All I Can Say Is - Cygnet - February 08, 2024 The taste was there again, and caused the grey fur of her donkey's cross to lift, clear from the back of her skull to the middle of her back, and down each shoulder. The metallic taste of blood, tinted with the gamey taste of predator was something she had not tasted before. It awakened something primal in her mind which was short-lived. The air was knocked out of her when he rammed his crown into her bruised ribs, sending a wave of pain through her shield, and disarming her completely. She fell to the ground and shuddered, curling into the fetal position as she gasped for air that wouldn't come. She could exhale in soft puffs, but it felt as though her windpipe had closed to a tiny straw every time she tried to drag in a breath. She stretched her neck out, mouth gaping open as she lay flat against the ground, incapacitated. It was agonizing to breathe- but even more agonizing to not be able to breathe at all. RE: All I Can Say Is - Arric - February 08, 2024 Arric felt bad immediately, but he also knew this was a lesson learned. He shifted and settled to his haunches. He shook out the paw that blood welled from. A stinging deep in the pad. And blood dripped to pool beneath his leg and shoulder. She had gotten him fairly good. Slow shallow breaths Cyg. You just need to do slow and shallow. Got the wind knocked out of ya. If she wasn't better in a couple more minutes he'd be calling for @Arlette. RE: All I Can Say Is - Cygnet - February 08, 2024 The sound of his voice caused her to bare her teeth, though she was only able to utter a soft, short growl as a warning. Wild-eyed, she craned her neck even more, as if it might help free her airway up and gradually, each suffering suck of air brought her a little more, until the afflication passed, allowing her to breath again. She shuddered and shivered, freed from one agony only to lapse further into the other as her bruised ribs protested the movement. She saw the spatters of his blood as he flicked his paw. Tiny, red beads that sank into the snow, melting though and dropping out of sight. With another shudder, she licked her lips. Decadent, she decided. It had tasted decadent. He rolled his eyes at the baring of teeth. Shove it pissy pants. You're just mad you lost. Come on you little dipshit. We should go see Arlette for your ribs. Then as long as she didn't protest entirely too much. He'd help her to the healers den. He hadn't hurt her bad he didn't think, but it was enough. RE: All I Can Say Is - Cygnet - February 08, 2024 this was great! <3!
She didn't expect sympathy from him, but to be insulted while she grappled with the pain of having been handled so roughly tipped her over the edge of her emotional overload. Her first serving of humble pie tasted bitter- just the way it was supposed to. She felt her eyes burn, and hot tears welled on the cusp of her eyelids, blurring her vision. Defeat was harder to stomach that she had anticipated- but then again, she had gone into the brawl assuming that in some way, she might win. Precariously, she rose one foot at a time, wobbling as she took her first couple of steps forward. The shift of her ribs in her stride caused her to wince, so she moved with short, careful steps. With her ears splayed and her head lowered, she ambled as quietly as a lamb back to the den knowing that Arlette might have something that would help- and perhaps a shred of sympathy as well. |
