chickadee had never forgotten firemother, the single red tree which stood across the river from the grandfather stone. and it was here that she felt herself come alive in the soft light of afternoon dipping toward a colder evening.
upon the plains she had felt a moving within her spirit, a mental turn toward a future event she did not then comprehend. not until now.
heat woke in her blood, flames licking to curl around ankle and instep and heartstrings; she exhaled!
and then @Kivaluk came to her mind, an image of him more wreathed in her desires than ever before, and before chickadee knew it, a voice she did not recognize was ekeing out from her throat for him and him alone.

RE: [m] yellowfeather - Kivaluk - February 27, 2024

would it not have been for the very distracting scent of chickadee, kivaluk might've taken a few moments to be in awe of the tree with it's pale trunk and it's vibrant leaves. but as he follows her trail — that scent — kivaluk has only eyes for her. the world 'round him and her is nothing but a dull blur. inconsequential. not worth him noticing.

chickadee..., he purls his wife's name, letting it morph into a croon that he hopes relays all that he wants to say and cannot. if he tried to speak, he fears, his tongue would become twisted on any word that was not her name!

he moves closer, nearer, a singular truth clinging to the forefront of his mind:

it was time.

RE: [m] yellowfeather - Chickadee - February 28, 2024

we can time skip or fade! <3

beneath her cheek, the bark of the tree was rough and cool, steadying her fever-flushed skin. chickadee shut her eyes, a soft whimper in her throat as her body ached for something she did not understand.
and then kivaluk was there, his voice beckoning back to her. in adulation and surprise and want she turned, her eyes drinking in the sight of her mate as if she had never seen him before, as if she wished to commit all details of him to memory.
his shoulders, his elegance. the set of his mouth, the strength of his shoulders. and finally, his eyes, burning into her own.
chickadee went eagerly into his arms, exhaling into the good mountain and forest scent of him.
i am ready, came her unspoken message as next her teeth raked lightly along his cheek.

there is nerves that flutter anxiously in his stomach; shallowly. stronger than that, there is instinct, there is love.

they are what guide kivaluk as he draws his wife into his embrace only after the rake of her teeth give her consent.

are you ok? do you feel ok? he asks; attentive and concerned for her wellbeing as he circles 'round her to face her. this wasn't their first time but it also, in a way, it was. how long d'you think until we'll know? he inquires in quiet murmur against her cheek as he nuzzles it.

RE: [m] yellowfeather - Chickadee - March 01, 2024

lightly the gamma panted. it had been familiar and yet so vastly different; chickadee could feel the strange sensation filling her with energetic desire once more.
a laugh sounded; chickadee licked the bridge of kivaluk's nose. "not sure. i guess we just — keep going until i don't feel like this anymore?"
that was all she desired now, leaning into her mate with a low, wanting inhale.

RE: [m] yellowfeather - Kivaluk - March 03, 2024

doesn't that normally take days? asks kivaluk; attempting to draw from his memories of women's heat cycles. mostly, they stayed away from him. or perhaps, he'd stayed away from them. at any rate, he hadn't even been interested, still being a child at the time.

kivaluk draws in a deep breath, grin tugging at his lips as he finds that he didn't mind being sequestered away with her for days; taking her in his arms and making love to her until her heat cycle faded.

not that i mind. he adds after a moment with a low, husky laugh.

RE: [m] yellowfeather - Chickadee - March 05, 2024

breathlessly she laughed, then bit her lip and nodded in a flare of heated sensation. "that's the only way we'll know, and then, i think, maybe two or three weeks after, we can be sure."
and if they could be, it placed the arrival of their children at the end of april or beginning of may, desire the fact that chickadee was beyond counting.
she wanted kivaluk again, and marvelled at how quickly she renewed herself, how strong her desire was. more powerful than ever before was not only her ardor but her settlement alongside him, as his mate and now as the promising mother to their future.
nipping at his cheek, chickadee breathed a shaking breath and let her eyes say the rest.

RE: [m] yellowfeather - Kivaluk - March 06, 2024

kivaluk offers a small nod to her logic as she presents it: that it's the only way they could be sure. there were no complaints to be had from him, naturally.

still, he follows her lead in this; because it is important to him. because she is important to him. arguably, the most important thing in his life. and her consent, despite them being husband and wife, matters to him.

i will follow your lead. he murmurs into her cheek; a promise, a vow. before he presses a kiss there and scoops her into his arms once more.
