Don't lose your head - Kove - November 27, 2014

The water trickled by slowly.
Painfully slowly.
Though all the brute could do was watch it move passed him, and around him once he'd stepped into it. His copper eyes where drawn to the sky above, having once again found himself out when clouds hung over threateningly. It had started to become a habit of his, and a bad one at that. Kove couldn't help it though, he really couldn't. The chilled wind brought memories back to him, one's from when he was only a mere cub. A small, mischievous cub, constantly getting into trouble during any moment that he could.
Told to stay put?
He'd get up and leave.
Told to follow?
He'd sit down right away.
Despite that being in the past, he still found that he would often continue to act like that. He would walk, listen, and act as if he were still that little cub, even though he was well aware of the fact that he wasn't. These types of antics and actions are what landed him where he now was—standing in the middle of a creek. It had seemed like a wonderful idea at first, but now that the water was starting to chill him to the bone, he found that he had made a terrible mistake. The realization forced the brute to move out of the creek, and onto one of the ledges that occupied much of the space around the creek.
Some of the water still ran over where he stood, but Kove had moved as far from the soft flow as he was able. In his mind, he saw it as being peculiar how much the cold had started to affect him. Born in the North, the timber wolf would have never expected to be chilled so quickly; no, so easily.
It was then he chose to simply blame it on the fact he had not been in the North since he was a cub, when his mother always made sure he and his siblings were as warm as they could be. With that being settled, he continued along the creek, taking careful steps so as to avoid stepping in any of the water. It had proved to be quite the task, but he eventually found himself making his way up the sliver of water, and higher into the mountains. The terrain was difficult, yes, but he believed the view would be well worth it.

The white princeling trotted forward with his head and tail held high, fierce olive eyes gleaming from underneath his alabaster mask. Muscles ripped underneath his silken coat as he moved, as silent as a shadow, as deadly as a snake, with a tongue as sharp as a knife. Gods, are we there yet, the Northern prince mentally grumbled, it had become a bad habit for him to eat plants that gave him hallucinations when he left his home, the North. His mother would have literally beaten him up for taking drugs but it wasn't his fault, not really. It helped when he had to form battle plans, imagining the gods above and when he charged recklessly into a fight, it gave him energy, energy he wouldn't have had if he didn't take them. It didn't help that the silver northerner had insomnia too, poppy seeds usually worked but occasionally he needed something stronger to give him the feeling of being 'drunk' and the side effects were not good. But none of it had helped with his sarcastic, obnoxious, snarky, arrogant exterior. After all, he was the prince of the North and all commoners in these southern lands should know better than to meddle with a prince, a princeling true, but still of royal blood.

Harrey had been eating poppy seeds and nutmeg more often nowadays since these green lands did not seem to provide him with drugs that gave him a better desired effect. But then, after all, it was better than nothing wasn't it? The yearling nearly winced as he imagined his mother's face if she ever found out he was taking drugs, he would seriously die if that ever happened. The Northern prince was not afraid of much except for his mother's fury, it was something to be reckoned with. But she was far away from these lands that only ever knew warmth, it seemed that winter had arrived in the green lands called Teekon Wilds too, it was hot to the prince's standards but better than pure heat, he supposed.

The white yearling had been wandering for sometime now, sometimes a weirdo would start speaking in his head, offering him advice but Harrey would just dismiss him for the side effects of the taken drug. Which was probably (hopefully) correct. The silver princeling's keen olive eyes spotted a creek and without a second thought, walked in, gracefully of course. The cold water soaked up his sleek thick fur but it didn't bother him just yet, Harrey loved water, the feeling of soaking in it and its icy coolness in winter, and don't forget the ways it could kill millions of wolves if it ever wanted to. Simply awesome. The princeling jumped out of the water and shook his wet fur, spraying droplets of icy water in all directions, he noticed a scent moments later and began following the trail. He spotted a figure sometime later and drawled out of the corner of his mouth "Doubt you'll make it up there," he snorted, a mocking amused tone in his voice and veiled disgust in his olive eyes.

Having not heard the other lupine approach, Kove was slightly startled to hear a voice ring out. The words were far from being that of encouragement, yet the brute found his gaze turning to see who had spoken them. He hadn't expected to see any others near during his small trek, yet the thought now seemed irrational. Of course there would be others lingering near by, though being approached by another had not crossed his mind. His coppery eyes met the form of the other brute, and his head cocked to the side slightly, as if he were a confused dog.
"Even with your doubts, it'd still bother me to not at least try," he stated, his head turning back around to see where he was placing each of his paws.
Letting the words of a mere stranger veer him off the path he'd set in mind was nothing the timber brute was familiar with. He'd been chased away from places during his time as a lone wolf, but never had he left without a threat being presented. A once over of this newly appeared canine provided no immediate threats to him, which he was glad for, so leaving his place was not an option.
"A part of you must believe yourself capable of climbing up it, else why would you be here?" Kove took another step forward, lifting himself up and onto a smaller ledge. "And if you could, why believe another to be incapable of such a task?"
He was curious, as could easily be seen, which made him speak. Speaking more so than usual was not completely unusual for him as of late, but still enough to cause his mind to remind him that silence could occasionally be bliss.

"Even with your doubts, it'd still bother me to not at least try," Harrey laughed, olive eyes twinkling with cold amusement. Not the good kind. "You're one of those wolves who always want to try aren't you?" the youth snorted. "One day, that is going to kill you. You should try to change your ways if you want to live," the north prince said in a mocking tone. Harrey wasn't threatening the other wolf, just offering an opinion, truthfully the little boy didn't really care if the opponent listened or not.

"A part of you must believe yourself capable of climbing up it, else why would you be here?" the silver prince smiled, a crooked amused smile. "If I wanted to do something, I would do it. But I wouldn't waste my energy on something like climbing." Harrey sneered. "I like to save my energy for something worth my time, you know." he drawled out of the corner of his mouth. But something inside him drove the princeling to take a step forward, olive eyes look up mockingly but now with a small gleam of curiosity.

RE: Don't lose your head - Kove - December 15, 2014

Turning himself about on the small ledge, his coppery eyes moved to focus solely on the other Northerner. He saw no problem with trying things, even if they were a bit risky. Things that presented too much of a danger would quickly be tossed aside, so what the other male's issue was, he couldn't tell. If he died trying something, then he died. It couldn't be prevented, and they all had to go someday. The ghostly man much preferred living his life and trying new experiences, rather than living sheltered and doing only what he knew to be safe for sure. Those that did such a thing seemed boring to him, and he questioned whether or not they were truly living. "Death is inevitable, so why not try new things while you're still able?" The question was entirely rhetorical, but whether the other caught onto that or not, he couldn't tell.

Moving back to face the ledges once more, he stretched himself up a bit to see if the one could support his weight. Finding it could, he lowered himself back to all fours, only to jump up onto the next slab of stone. "So seeing new things—new views of the land—isn't worth your time?" Kove didn't bother turning to look at the man this time around. He was much too focused on watching the small movements of water, as well as searching for the next ledge he wanted to jump onto.

RE: Don't lose your head - Harrey - December 27, 2014

Olive eyes locked on the other Northerner's coppery ones, a smirk curling at his lips. He had to admit the other male gave a good arguement, death was indeed inevitable. And he did not plan on wasting his life on boring mundane things like climbing. The white prince planned to fight battles, scheme, turn packs against each other, cause utter chaos and watch as the wolves fought against one another. Harrey was slightly insane when he was high, he was not quite as crazy or sadistic when he was not taking the drugs/herbs.

Shaking his head, trying to clear his thoughts, the proud silver yearling watched as as the other male leaped onto the next piece of stone, still focused on climbing. "So seeing new things—new views of the land—isn't worth your time?", for once Harrey actually thought deeply about it. "I like seeing new lands, if they're exotic." he admitted, rather taken aback by his own honesty. "I like sparring and the thrill of battle more though."

RE: Don't lose your head - Kove - December 29, 2014

The other's words entered Kove's ears, moving through his mind as he thought them over. Exotic lands, huh? He had never seen anything exotic, or at least nothing seemed that way to him. What the other male saw as being interesting enough to view, he was curious to know. The ghost, however, did not voice his inner question. It didn't seem important enough to need an answer, and the more type he wasted speaking, the longer it would take him to reach the view he desired.

When the mention of sparring and battles left the other Northerner's maw, the pale lupine sat himself down atop the ledge he was currently on, training his gaze on the other. "Perhaps a spar, or a battle of some sort, awaits higher up," Kove suggested. "What would you do then? Would you climb, or turn tail?" It was not that he wanted a 'climbing-buddy', but simply because he believed it would be bothersome to just let the other man go on without seeing what lurked above.
