ava’s back hunched as she retched a thin rope of bile into the snow.
it simmered and rippled against beads of white. ava traced the bile’s livid outline with a clench of her jaw.
shakily holding her head, she tried one more howl for dinah — but all that came out was the breathsmoke of a ruined voice box.
