Frigid air turns old blood to ice. It clings unforgivingly to his wounded nape.
Hiro was freezing. Exhausted from being forced to run. Hungry. Alone.
There is solace to be found in this loneliness though. Freedom; foreign and frightful. But still, he is free.
And for a moment he can smile at the world.
