i'm a million dollar baby - Sparrow - May 08, 2024

sparrow had decided that he was head honcho up in this club. he walked with chest puffed and head held high, often tripping over his own feet but brushing it off as if it were on purpose. today he strutted outside the entrance of the den where one of his siblings suddenly gave him the stink-eye. the boy reared like a bull, nostrils flaring as he kicked up dirt behind him in a mess of dust.

he stared down the challenger with his hillbilly smile, tail thrashing behind him in whips of playful dominance. off in the distance it looked as if he and his littermate were participating in a western duel, and after a few moments of tense glaring, sparrow pulled the imaginary trigger and barreled towards his sibling.

Feel free to skip Ksura if your duel partner pops in! <3

While there were mouths to feed at his own hearth, Ksura nevertheless felt compelled to help out the leaders as well. He wasn’t at all concerned for their wellbeing, or doubtful of their capabilities; what food he brought to them came from the impulse to help any mother feed their children, regardless of his own blood ties or lack thereof.

The meal he brought was still alive, though only barely. An early lesson in hunting he thought, as he carried the limp and mortally wounded pheasant. He’d made sure to render it incapable of flight, but the excited trembling of his jaws as he carried it caused more damage.

He set the pheasant down and placed a paw on it- it didn’t struggle but its beady eyes caught sight of the quarrel amongst the children, before they slid shut as if in acceptance. Ksura, however, was interested in the conflict, but chose not to intervene.

RE: i'm a million dollar baby - Wren - May 12, 2024

can just be a cameo <3

the riverbabes grew, and along with it came a new form of fondness for them. they were truly little people now, little people with their mamá's big brain and their ma's big heart; little people with plump faces and sharp teeth, and with laughter that wormed into the soul and made a home in one's memory.
wren lays just outside their wooded nursery, limbs stretched out into the sun while a tuft of grass formed her pillow. she turns to speak to ksura as he approaches, hardly managing to get out an oh, thank you before she is distracted by loud yips and the thud of tiny, unsteady paws. oh, tenacious sparrow!
go easy on 'em, sweetheart, she calls to her boy. you're gonna haf'ta learn your own strength one day.

RE: i'm a million dollar baby - Rowyn - May 12, 2024

Rowyn saw Sparrow coming
And with the grace of a bull in a china shop reared up to meet them. Though he did leave the stink eye towards his mother who was obviously playing favorites. Because clearly.

He snorted and bellow roared back. Tiny head snapping forward with little teeth gnashing. A gangly clumsy paw reaching out to slap Sparrow.

RE: i'm a million dollar baby - Sparrow - May 23, 2024

the adults were ignored. his mother's words were ignored. his brother's nasty glares were ignored. sparrow lunged at rowyn with the intent to push him over and tackle him to the ground, but his brother's paw connected with his jaw and ushered a halt his movement. ah, hellll no! nobody slaps him and gets off easy.

he wasted no time before parting his jaws and aiming for the soft flesh of rowyn's ear. a furious rumble bubbled it's way up as he snapped at his brother, hellbent on giving him a fresh new piercing minus the jewelry.

RE: i'm a million dollar baby - Rowyn - May 24, 2024

A squeal between delight and disgust as his brother went for bis ear. Sharp needle teeth in soft flesh and he howled.

He turned his head trying to snap at his brothers nose. Using his paws as battering rams on whatever part of his brother he could reach.

RE: i'm a million dollar baby - Sparrow - May 27, 2024

he managed to grasp ahold of his brother's ear but did not bite for too long before he was shoved off and snapped at. milk-teeth cut across his snout leaving small scratches in the commotion of their squabble. he lifted a paw to rub at the minuscule injury only to be swatted at and tumble over.

he picked himself up with a roar to his brother, fury radiating off of him in both frustration and embarrassment. he stuck out his tongue and proceeded to blow a raspberry in rowyn's face, a loud "PHHHFFFTTTTTT - PHHFFTT," cutting through the air as saliva went flying.

RE: i'm a million dollar baby - Rowyn - May 28, 2024

Rowyn yelped as the teeth were pulled across his ear. Leaving tiny tears in the membrane. He grrred at hia brother.

Rowyn backed up as spit landed all over his face.

Uck Spa

He stuck his own tongue out. But didn't blow a raspberry just made a soft. Unn. noise.

He was unsure, but he bent down an offer of forgiveness in the form of a playbow.

RE: i'm a million dollar baby - Ridgeback - May 29, 2024

Go easy on him? Ksura smiled and glanced to Wren, who seemed to fear, then, that one child might overpower the other. He looked from one child to the next- but noted only that they both seemed willing to spar, as little Rowyn bellowed out his acceptance. He grinned, to see them move toward one another with fumbling steps, but with all the courage that he would have expected from Wren and Silvertongue's children.

Feeling comfortable among them, he lay down and stretched out so he might observe the battle. The first clash was quite the spectacle- ending with a joust from Sparrow that caused Ksura to chuckle. "Don't put up with that, Rowyn- sic 'em!" He encouraged!

RE: i'm a million dollar baby - Sparrow - June 03, 2024

his brother reciprocated the favor and sparrow turned to ignore the other boy as if he did not care. the playbow was met with a stuck-up and snooty scrunch of sparrow's nose, only aided by the cheer of a strange man in support of rowyn.

how dare! he should have been cheering for him!

as if to announce his displeasure, sparrow marched up to the strange adult, took one glance at the pheasant and then reached down to snag it away in defiance. cheer for the wrong kid and get ready to lose your meal sucka.

RE: i'm a million dollar baby - Rowyn - June 06, 2024

Rowyn watched in surprise as his brother pointedly ignored him amd then stole the adult wolf's food.

SPA!! He protested. That was not nice. Is hims

You didn't just take stuff and Mr. Ksura always brought them food. Why would he still it. Not cool.

RE: i'm a million dollar baby - Ridgeback - June 15, 2024

He was made to immediately regret his goading, when Sparrow turned to him then and charged toward him. Naturally, he had zero concerns for his own safety- but hoped he hadn’t hurt Sparrow’s feelings by rooting for his brother. Now he would be punished- and he’d accept it, while being as dramatic as possible.

The indignant pup stole his food, snatching it away- Ksura stamped his foot down on the ground as if he’d intended to pin the meal down before the kid could grab it, making a show of how quick the boy’s movements had been. ”Thief!” He exclaimed, ”Robber!” He said, jumping to his feet. He dipped into a playbow.

”You better run now, ya speedy foodpincher!” He said with a great, toothy grin.
