emerald glen - Njord - May 16, 2024

AW, but maybe @Nyssa? :o Tags for vis

@Meerkat informed Njord of a potential joiner, named @Auburn. His wife had set her up outside the borders, but her behavior over the generous meal concerned the man. Did the pack need, or deserve, the burden of trying to iron out this stranger’s poor behavior? She sounded young. Desperate. Yet these days, ever since Kigipigak’s true character was revealed, Njord’s soft heart had hardened towards his capacity to judge another’s character.

He mulled it over as he walked along the windy Craigh, which overlooked the Eastern part of their territory.

The potential new addition to the pack was lost on Nyssa. A female maybe younger than herself and certainly more desperate than she had been, when Meerkat found her. But trickles of outside scents mingled with Meerkat's set close to the eastern edge had the charcoal girl on high alert.

It spurred her instinctively in that direction, drawn without thinking. The kiddos were still growing. Until they were sturdy and could defend themselves with their own teeth if need be, the adults had to be in charge of security. Alert and suspicious, Nyssa pushed further east. Determined to investigate on her own.

Before she got too far, she ran into Njord. Catching sight of him walking along the cliff overlooking the eastern boundary of their home. As if sensing any pensiveness, she approached. Not shy in bumping her shoulder lightly with his own. "Hey. Seems there's been some activity around here, huh? What's up?" She was inquisitive. Casual but all ears should he wish to elaborate.

“Nyssa,” Njord greeted the young woman with a warm smile when she joined the Laird atop the outlook. He appreciated her camaraderie and industrious demeanor.

“Aye,” he confirmed. “Meerkat an’ Skipjack met a yearling at the borders, but when they offered her food she acted aggressively towards ‘em,” he explained. “Meerkat said she was rail thin… desperate… but Ah dinnae appreciate a wolf who tries an’ bites tha paw of who feeds it. She’s stayin’ on the borders, for now, until we can test her true character…”

Njord thought for a moment. “It would be good tae have a few more wolves join the Copse, though,” he voiced aloud.
