Today he is one year old.
He looks for the words and sounds that might describe the conditions of weather on the morning he last saw them: the wind, its tumultuous gusts as it capsized the bridge of sand, or the melancholy calls of the sparrows wafting down from on high. Most of the times, he remembers this better than their faces.
Judah howls nine times, once for each member of his family.
And a tenth time for God.
