i keep a clip, i keep a pole - Chani - May 26, 2024

optional! no posting order! <3

the problem was that chani was no longer sure how to be useful.
she had heard the call for sobeille and had promptly flown into a hot jealousy. it wasn't enough that her cousin had ditched her on their expedition, now she had friends outside the pack, whereas chani had none.
of course she knew she actually had to make them, but that didn't matter now! she stomped to where her siblings were playing outside, though a moment to look at them softened the irate girl right up. "@Cheri! @Jean-Heron! look!" and she showed them the whalebone pelvis which val had given her, the bones burnishing to yellowed ivory now. "@Roux, @Èlosie, wè?" the young hunter chirped, settling on her belly. "pati sa yo te byen file. kounye a yo pa."

RE: i keep a clip, i keep a pole - Jean-Heron - June 21, 2024

Jean-Heron had just launched himself off of the "sleeping" Svalinn's hip and landed squarely on @Cheri's back when Chani arrived. @Roux and @Èlosie were likewise used as stepping stones, as he bowled his way to their big sister, clown paws flapping.

Yet unable to engage the brakes of his bodily vehicle, he careened headlong into Chani, temporarily rendering himself upside down. Grrrrr?! He quickly reoriented, and began to circle the gift with the same handsy intent of a wrestler in the ring.

Eager to claim it for himself, he awkwardly attempted to straddle the bones and drag them away from everyone else.

"jean-heron! share!" chani scolded, but she hid a laugh behind a fore-ankle and made no move to stop her boisterous little brother. she pushed him a little, encouraging the others to go after the boy, to stop him.
and all the while, her tail beat a rhythm against the ground outside the den. being an older sister was rather nice, rewarding, and this was already before they had truly started to explore!
