Any day now, his children would be brought into the world, and his wife freed from the shackles of pregnancy! He was looking forward to the day where he might take over the brunt of their child-rearing duties for a night or a day, giving Simbelmyne a chance to relax or run wild as desired.For now, all he could do was hunt for her.
He meant to stick close, but today, found himself ranging further afield. When he stood at the center of the pasture, he thought that a larger hunt might be in order — and so he tipped back his head to ask for help, singing a clear call into the twilit sky.

the white bird had heard the howl, and came by to circle above the lone wolf, awaiting a hunt and the assured meal at the end of others' efforts.
yet, none came.
a dull flight-ache in his chest, the raven descended to the field, wings fluttering, landing daringly near the wolf.
he had a bird's grin on when he croaked out;
hunt alone, eh?
