cave - Darrow - June 19, 2024

Darrow peered between the gnarled roots of the ancient oak, electric eyes wide with awe. They arched to form a cave, a secret hideaway, scent-stained by no one. How had no one found this place before?

Eagerly, he ducked his head inside.

Shadows crawled up the root's smooth interior, broken only by soft sunlight filtering through cracks inbetween. Inside was even bigger than it looked from outside! Packed earth tunneling down a ways so someone big enough as mom could turn around inside it and still have a little space for someone to join her.

Were there any other tunnels down here? He peered in, but couldn't see far enough to tell.

He ought to get Aerilyn to come check things out with him! Backing out of the roots, he turned round to sus her out. Messy fur framed an excited grin.

RE: cave - Needle - June 21, 2024

tysm for starting!!

Bryony had just come from admiring her reflection in a still pond. Though the lighting was not ideal, she could still tell that one of her eyes had started to look a little different than the other. Mami had assured her this was normal, but the little dove kept track of the change regardless. She quite liked her face the way it was -- why must it change at all?

Pondering this, she walked a familiar footpath until catching a trail of one of the older Riverchildren. Oh! Bryony felt eager to investigate. The "big" kids were practically minor gods; she, the pining mortal. A few weeks made a huge difference at this stage, and she wouldn't dare miss the opportunity to study and imitate these less intimidating mini-adults.

She circled the fresh scent, starting in several directions before finding the right way. By the time she arrived, she found Darrow emerging from beneath a gargantuan tree, ruffled and beaming. Bryony yipped to him, hungry for his attention though still too shy to approach without hesitation. Did yew falled? she asked, tilting her head curiously.
