etienne had said he resembled erzulie; well, erzulie appeared a dozen fold, and beside her, multiple ruddy copies of mireille. they watched him, unblinking.
lafayette floated in the celestial abyss.
it was like water, but he could breathe it in. he sucked in the air, reveling in the feeling.
stars grew and died around him.
