I went down to the river today - Calahan - August 09, 2024

It was early august when he finally got around to setting an official claim on the river. For now, Calahan intended to simply live here, without major aspirations. Plans led to trouble, that had been proven several times over.

The outlaw scraped the ground in one spot, overturning dirt. Wondering when autumn would change the leaves of the apsens that dotted parts of the riverbank.

After a particularly long stretch of his trip Beau was glad to spot the river. With the recent weather he was often left feeling far too warm and threatened with dehydration.

He paid little attention to anything but his current goal of moving to the water source, tail held high. Spotting the bounty of fish it contained only increased his excitement as he crouched down to drink - thanking the God's above for his luck.

However, in his haste he had missed not only the strong scent of a wolf's claim of the area, but the male sat not too far down the river from him.

Calahan, however, was in no such haste. It wasn't long until he spotted the mottled canine, approaching with his hackles raised. However, he couldn't suppress the wave of amusement at the other's lack of awareness. "Hey!"

The cattle rustler intended to scare the wolf with his shout. Maybe he'd choke on the water, and get compensated for his thievery, but that was simply wishful thinking. This section of the river was claimed, and unauthorized consumption of water forbidden.

His ears perked at the sudden shout, however he waited until he had gotten his fill before lifting his head to get a look at the source. If it hadn't been for the small piece of acknowledgement, you would think he was deaf.

"What're you yellin' about?" He shouted in response, raising an eyebrow.
