PSA: Courtesy in Private Spaces - WOLF - August 10, 2024

Hey, WOLF pack.

We want to remind everyone that our courtesy guidelines do not apply exclusively to the forum and our official Discord server, but encompass all communication channels regarding the game, its characters, and the wonderful people who roleplay here. This includes DMs and private Discord servers.

We have been made aware of some discourteous behaviors occurring in private channels. While we understand that people sometimes need to vent or may only feel comfortable speaking freely in a private setting, negative comments, making assumptions, and spreading rumors is not the appropriate way to do that. These behaviors are harmful not only to the people involved, but the community as a whole. It is our goal to maintain an inclusive, respectful, and positive environment for all our members, and this behavior is actively detrimental to that.

Should you encounter issues with another player or an IC scenario, the appropriate way to resolve it is to communicate the issue in private with the person or people directly involved. Saying unkind things in a private server or complaining about it to other people does nothing to resolve the issue and only sows negative feelings out into the community. Good communication and collaboration are so important to the health of a roleplaying game and community where each player has their own hopes, goals, and motivations for their characters.

While it has always been true that we will address discourtesy in private spaces as well as official ones, please consider this a warning that disrespectful comments about players or their characters will not be tolerated at WOLF and will be addressed should we be made aware of it happening, even if it's in private channels.
