Snakes. He had always found them to be puzzling creatures. Never had he understood how something that appeared so helpless could be so dangerous - after all they were essentially fish on land. He thought so at least.
Sat atop a rock he watched one of the limbless creatures slither by. His brow furrowed, he analyzed the pattern. What was it that he had been taught to tell the dangerous snakes from the safe one's? This one had no rattle, which made it significantly more difficult for him to decipher.
If deemed it safe he planned to eat the reptile. He remembered the odd taste they carried - and he found himself craving such a flavour.
