reset my patient violence - Meseba - September 19, 2024
broken clouds skitter across the early morning sky, still in the infancy of dawn. it's painted a brilliant myriad of colors: rich navy blue and orange and cotton candy pinks. a glance is cast heavenwards, noting the few stars that defiantly hang on, determined not to be extinguished by the rising sun. it's a futile fight, meseba thinks. the day will come, whether the stars rebel or not.
he draws in a large breath, relishing at the chill in the air.
he uses it to still his thoughts as he begins his patrol on the gate; attention case along the territory outside their claim.
