Once settled, and a basic curfew discussed, Ameline allowed the girls a little bit of freedom, which would buy her a chance to mingle as well. In spite of how willing she felt to cruise the trade market, she found herself checking the crowd for a glimpse of her children every now and again. It was their first true taste of freedom- and they were surrounded by strangers.
In addition to the separation, she felt lightly anxious that she might cross paths with someone that might will her or her family harm. Rather than dread and be surprised by conflict, she decided instead to seek out any potential danger head-on:
She kept an eye out for any sign of the wolves of Redtail Rise.
Fortunately, there were others here that she trusted. The wolves of Swiftcurrent and Kvarsheim were neighbours. Sapphique, surely, would remember having Ancelin in their midst for some time, and thus be considered still an ally.
She was shocked to see how many packs were in attendance, and made curious by the variety of treasures they brought. Some adorned themselves with crafts and fragrances, leaving her feeling quite wild and uncultivated- just the way she wanted to be.
